Jeffrey W. Foxx, Attorney at Law Reviews

  • Oct 1, 2019

This guy is a billing machine more than a lawyer. I paid a bunch of money to him upfront to do a lease that he had done before for a friend of mine. And it was the same exact document he had done for a friend of mine.

I compared the two documents and they were exactly the same except the names and addresses were different. So, I know this job I hired him for was a "search and replace" job for this attorney. In other words Foxx or likely his secretary went into his word processing program and put in "take this old name out here and replace with this new name" and same for the addresses.

With a word processor the job couldn't have taken more than 30 minutes. So, when I met with him I kept it extremely brief. I spent 30 minutes with him in person for the entire job, at most. And I told him specifically not to do that promisorry note.

I stated that very specifically again out in the open, in front of his secretary, not to do that promissory note. And he did the promisary note against my specific instructions. The moment he handed me the promissory note that I told him specifically not to do that I knew that I was going to have a billing problem with him.

True as I predicted I now, in fact, have a billing problem with him. I paid him almost $1,000 dollars up front for a simple lease that had lots of errors and missspellings in it after he was done. Which shows he didn't even proofread his work.

I know he didn't spend as much time on this lease as he claims he does because there were so many errors in the paperwork. There was a part of the lease that I emailed to him that he simply copied and pasted from my email directly from my email and into the document itself with misspellings and all.

He wants to charge me a fortune to do work I told him not to do and have as many errors in the paperwork as he does? That's not right. He does excessive work and work you tell him not to do and wants to get paid for it. And, now, he's using a collection agent to hold my credit score hostage until I pay him for work he didn't do and wasn't supposed to do.
