I retained Jeff Hitt to modify my divorce decree. He promised to reach an agreement with opposing counsel or get a hearing date before the judge in court. He did neither. He met with me at a coffee shop 1 time and I retained him. It took him 3 months to serve my ex husband. When no agreement was made he offered to refund me half of the money I put toward retaining him and withdraw from my case. After all he accomplished nothing and made my situation worse.
I asked for an itemized bill and only received one after making threats to file a grievance with the state bar of texas. AFter a couple of weeks after he filed the withdrawal, the Jeff was not withdrawn from my case. I had to call the court house and find out what the hold up was because Jeff wouldn't respond to my emails or calls anymore.
I found out that Jeff filed the motion to withdraw but did not include an order and the judge woudn't be able to sign off on the withdrawal because all the necessary items were not included in the motion to file. He is an incompetent and unprofessional lawyer and he has no office or secretary. He is difficult to reach and handles his business strictly on text messages and brief phone calls. Do not make the same mistake I did.... do not retain this attorney.
