I am seeking a partial refund from an unfulfilled contact due to a changed tummy tuck & liposuction procedure without my consent or communication performed by Dr. Jason Emer’s 10/01/2021 for a cost of $58,000.
After flying from Oregon to California, I met with Ashley Agahi (Patient Care Consultant) and Jason Emer for my preop meeting. Ashley communicated that she misquoted my surgery, and I would need to wire an additional $15K within the 12-hour window before my surgery. Jason communicated that my full tummy tuck would pull my skin tight from my rip cage to my incision. Also, Jason communicated that he would perform abdominal etching and lipo.
Jason stated I was an ideal weight, and he would take up to the full amount of lipo volume to allow my etched abs to show after the procedure. I was pressured to purchase their aftercare treatments and garments; however, Ashley and Jason didn’t communicate the office had significantly increased my costs for outside treatments & services.
For example, I purchased lymphatic massage. A massage therapist who worked independently blocks away and costs $125 per session cost me $240 per session when the therapist worked on me in Jason Emer’s office. Thereby, I paid several thousand dollars in undisclosed mark ups for a second surgeon (Dr. Bruno,) compression garments, and aftercare treatments without informed consent.
After returning home and recovering from surgery, I discovered that Jason Emer did not perform a full tummy tuck which left loose skin above my belly button as diagnosed by a board-certified plastic surgeon. Further, Jason didn’t remove the full amount of surgical volume allowed which left uneven fat deposits on my flanks and asymmetry on my stomach.
I’ve reached out by phone and email to Ashley Agahi (Patient Care Consultant.) Stephanie Collins (COO/CFO,) and P.J. Bognanno for a resolution, but I’ve been ignored. I’ve asked for the surgical notes, signed paperwork for my before & after pictures, and have attempted to speak with Jason Emer. This office has stopped responding to my communication.
By writing in public forums, I am hoping that this office responds to my requests before I take the next steps in a medical malpractice suit which requires me to notify Jason Emer of legal proceeding ahead of time.
