On 9/6, I visited the office of Jasleen Kaur, independent doctor of optometry at Target Optical. Prior to beginning, the doctor requested that I sign a document which among other things, stated that she had discussed with me, the proper care for wearing contact lens.
Feeling that the request was deceptive, I mentioned to the doctor that the form stated that she had not yet performed the services indicated in the document. The doctor insisted that I sign it anyway and that if she didn't perform those services that she would give me back the form so that I could rip it up. With a bit of reservation, I signed the document as requested by the doctor.
Prior to the eye chart exam, the doctor stated that she needed to discuss the fee for the exam and stated that she wanted (not needed) to do an eye image scan (for the purpose of taking a picture of the inside of my eyes) and that the cost of the exam would be $180 (on 9/5 spoke with "LeeAnn" and was told that the cost of the exam for glasses and contacts would be $140). I agreed and the exam began.
At end of exam, doctor requested my credit card and stated that the receipt would be emailed.
On 9/7 called Target Optical and spoke with "LeeAnn" about not having received my receipt which was sent after the call. Later that day, I looked at the receipt which showed a charge of $200. Immediately called back (spoke to "LeeAnn") requesting to speak with doctor for an explanation of amount charged for eye exam. "LeeAnn" said that she would research it and get back with me.
On 9/8, I attempted to reach the doctor at 216-297-9492 (a contact number previously provided for questions regarding my appointment and listed by Google as a number registered to Jasleen Kaur, LLC), however, on that occasion (as well as others), there was no answer. At approximately 17.30, I called Target Optical however there was no answer.
Called back on 9/9 spoke with "Sue" who stated "LeeAnn" was off that day and the doctor was with patients all day and that she would leave a message.
Called back on 9/13 spoke with "LeeAnn" who was rude and dismissive. Said that the receipt had been resent and she didn't know what I wanted and couldn't help me since she was an employee of Target and the doctor was an independent doctor of optometry. "LeeAnn" also stated that she (Jasleen Kaur) wouldn't call me back. In the middle of asking a question "LeeAnn" who claimed that I needed to calm down, stated that she wasn't going to do this and hung up on me.
On 9/19 filed a complaint with the local BBB requesting an explanation of the charges and a refund. According to the BBB, a copy of the complaint was emailed to Jasleen Kaur on or about 9/20 and again on 10/2, however there has been no response from Jasleen Kaur.
