Around taxt time earlier this year I received a knock on my door from an individual who was looking to buy junk cars. I had one in front of my house but assured him it wasnt for sale he also told me he fixed cars and if i needed anything to let him know. I told him that my bmw had a check engine light on and that i didnt know what was wrong with it he said that he could look at it for me if i wanted him too and let me know what was wrong with the vehicle. He hooked up a machine to my computer system and popped the hood on my car while the system was running he attempted to show me things under the hood as if alot was wrong with my car. He took about 10 minutes to let me know that i would need to bring my car to him because he could get me discount parts instead of goin to the dealership. He wrote down my name and number and he gave me his name and number he unplugged the system from my car. He said he would call me in a day or two to let me know what was wrong with the codes that he pulled from my car. June 2015 my car was stolen and vandalized it was total loss from the insurance company. I only had one key to my car and was not driving the vehicle at the time because the door was bent in from a altercation where a man was slammed into my door. I talked with a locksmith who also works on cars and he told me that the machine that he hooked up to my car may have not been meant to read codes but to read other information to my car and he could have used that information to make another key to my car and drive off in my vehicle. This happened earlier this year and goin through papers that were in my car at the time i came across the number and decided to call the man and upon calling i got that this number is no longer in service. My claim was denied from my insurance company. I have looked online for any information as to how this man could have made another key to my car with the machine he used. I have found several things but i cant prove necessarily what he did but it seems pretty strange to me that he hooked the machine up and give me contact information that doesnt work. I have never heard from this guy since that day. Please be aware of this scammer i cant prove he did it because i cant find him or any information about him but im pretty sure he know what happened to my vehicle.
