Our room was full of lizards and lots of insects! We didn't notice right away because we checked in, put our bags down and left for the rest of the day. We didn't get back until night time and called the front desk right away, but they would NOT do anything about it! We tried to book another hotel, but it was late at night and everything was booked due to the x-mas/holiday season. My Fiance and I were forced to sleep in our friend's room. We called the manager of the hotel the next morning and they didn't show up for over an hour! Two managers finally showed up, who really could have cared less and told us they didn't have any other rooms to switch us to. We had to argue with them and show them pictures before they finally "remembered" that they had another room available.
On our way to the new room, we asked what could be done for our troubles on our first night and she stated that she would look into it. Of course she never did. When checking out she said there was nothing they could do because the insects and lizards were outside of their control.
My Fiance tried disputing the charge on his credit card and the hotel denied ALL OF IT. Since we did indeed stay in the hotel the first night, even though we had to sleep in our friend's room, they wouldn't reverse the charge.
Be prepared to hike because it was literally over 200 steps to get to our room, each way! If you make the horrible decision to stay at this hotel, get the rooms on the top floors because there aren't as many steps. It's really unbelievable how many steps there were.
We also decided to rent a private boat through the hotel, which was an equally awful experience. We paid $1,000 (in US, not Baht) to have this set up for us. The boat looked like it would fall apart at any moment and the whole ride was bumpy and horrible. Towards the end, one of the engines went out and the boat started to sink and there were no life vests on board! We thought we were going to die! By some miracle, we made it back alive and no one was there to help us.
I don't normally write reviews, but I am taking the time to make sure everyone knows what a horrible and dishonest hotel this is.
