My boyfriend and I reached out to Rachel, the owner of Jaded Pitbulls, as we have just relocated to a town an hour from Wildwood. We wanted to adopt a dog and had heard of this rescue. When we contacted Rachel, she made an appointment for us to come see some of her pitbull dogs.
When we arrived on the day of the appointment there was no one at the facility taking care of the dogs. We banged on the door, no one answered. All you could hear was dogs barking. The outside of the building had feces everywhere and the place was disgusting.
When we finally got hold of Rachel she told us that no one showed up to help with the dogs that day. Anyone that doesn't have enough help to house their animals and shows up an hour late to their appointment with potential adopters should be called out on their poorly run "rescue."
I went on her facebook page and saw she puts out pleas for fundraising, however as fas as we can see, she is NOT a 501c3, she is NOT a nonprofit
I would not tell people NOT to adopt from her, because I think that the faster the dogs leave her care the better. Please please ADOPT from her so the dogs can leave her care as quickly as possible.
Hopefully this report will shed some light to the dark side of rescues like hers.
By the way, when we asked Rachel where the dog was that we were interested in adopting, she told us the dog was already adopted. We have concerns as to where that dog actually ended up.
I am sad to say that we did not adopt a dog from this rescue. But we hope others will so she doesn't have any more dogs.
