This is in reference to a rental scam for a guest house located at 23971 Park Lane Crestline CA. As of the date of this report, this property is listed on Zillow rentals as listed below:
This listing appears and disappears every few months or so and I am writing this report so that others do not get ripped off. It will be listed for rent for a short period then disappear then reappear again. Notice how there is no phone number listed on the advertisement, however the number listed in this report was captured from a previous listing. This is nothing but a fake, scam rental listing. When you go to see the property, you will always be told that there is a tenant residing in the property so you cannot see the inside. The landlord or someone posing as a leasing agent will state that the property is available starting around the next month or so with all furnishings and utilities included. The leasing agent will demand payment of first and last month rent plus security deposit and when you attempt to move in or follow up you will be told that it was rented to somebody else because they got a lot of applications and that a refund will issue for the amount you have paid. However, no refund ever occurs. Really? A lot of applications for a 350 square foot glorified hotel room well above market value with only one parking space where the landlord is always right there in an area where the weather climate is far less than ideal? Apparently somebody with covid had rented (although I do not so believe) the property and told the landlord that there were working in another facility to protect their privacy (smart move) and prevent disclosure that the residence was infected? Sounds very suspicious but who would want a landlord spying on you anyway. More importantly who would want to pay to be spied on or accurately for premises that never materialized? Real property records show that this guest house was attempted to be rented out to cover what would be approximately the amount of the mortgage on both properties as if the date it was purchased by the so called landlord in this case. Who wouldn't want to have their whole mortgage paid for by a guest house rental with shoddy furniture and false statements as to availability or existence of rental premises?
