This company was recommended by the online site HomeAdvisor to fix a leak in my roof. Their salesman told me that I needed a new roof and to have the steps on the back porch replaced (total cost of $53,600). However when they filed out the permit they listed the cost as $17,700. They began work without the permits (and the town shut them down for over a month). They then told me I had to have my chimney relined and rebuilt (cost of $86,500), never mind that the chimney withstood hurricane Floyd, Superstorm Sandy, and various snowfalls. As they had positive reviews on-line, I believed them. I later learned they subcontracted the work to companies that had no licenses to operate in the state. Their work failed inspection, they would not return my phone calls, or fix the problems (the work was not up to code) until I complained to the Department of Consumer Affairs. Even then they did not finish. They guaranteed their work was but not only did they not honor their warranties, they moved out of the state because people who had been ripped off by them were taking legal actions.
Look up "James K. Wellington," "James Wellington Construction LLC," "J Wellington Construction" or "Leonardo Petrosillo" on-line and you will find a trail of fraud. They are scam artists. Do not let them within a mile of your house if you need home repairs.
