Jesus Marc Robinson (owner of J.M.Robinson Concrete Co.) was hired to do concrete work at our private residence. The actual date of when the work was to begin was not decided on but Mr. Robinson decided to show up un-announce on Saturday, May 30, 2020 to begin working on the concrete project and expected 50% of the money in cash on the spot. This all transpired while I'm driving to work & Mr. Robinson was talking to me on the phone.
After I ended my call with Mr. Robinson, I had to quickly call my husband (he currently was not at home) to meet Mr. Robinson to talk with him. After my husband talked with Mr. Robinson, my husband gave Mr. Robinson a 16% down payment on the job. From May 30, 2020-June 4, 2020, Mr. Robinson appeared unannounced sporadically to do the preparation for the concrete work. On Friday, June 5, 2020 was the day the concrete was laid down. On Friday, June 5, 2020, my husband had concerns/questions and was trying to address these concerns/questions with Mr. Robinson but Mr. Robinson blew my husband off and it appeared Mr. Robinson was annoyed that my husband was asking questions because Mr. Robinson made the statement with an attitude, "I know what I'm doing. Let me do my job!"
On Sunday, June 7, 2020, a portion of the new drive-way concrete CRACKED across the driveway. On Monday, June 8, 2020 my husband & I informed Mr. Robinson before he came out to do the saw cuts that a portion of the concrete had CRACKED straight across. When Mr. Robinson arrived he saw the CRACKED concrete and said "I can patch this crack or I can re-do the cracked concrete" Mr. Robinson stated, "The other concrete job at another property that I did this week cracked too." I informed Mr. Robinson that my husband and I wanted the CRACKED concrete re-done.
Mr. Robinson had another guy do the saw cuts. Mr. Robinson started busting out the concrete that had to be repaired. All the while, Mr. Robinson had a broke arm ( he broke his arm in an accident over the weekend). Mr. Robinson stated, “I have to bring my son with me tomorrow to help me re-do the cracked concrete because of my arm”. On Tuesday, June 9, 2020, Mr. Robinson and his son showed up unannounced to start the work. I had questions (such as the cement that got on my brick pavers that I have around my flower bed) to ask Mr. Robinson and he said to me “Are you going to point out all the defects in the concrete now? Are you going to let me do my job. I have a lot of work to do.” Mr. Robinson’s son busted out the damaged concrete and mixed of new concrete to lay down. When Mr. Robinson and his son finished he just left without saying a word to us that he was finished with the work.
On Thursday, June, 11, 2020 morning, once again Mr. Robinson showed up un-announced with his son to do a saw cut on the re-done concrete. As of today Saturday, August 29, 2020, the re-done concrete portion is DISCOLORED. Also on the other parts of the driveway concrete has cracked. My husband & I do not wish to have further contact with Mr. Robinson and his company, J.M. Robinson Co. My purpose of writing this complaint is so that no one else has to be a victim to Mr. Robinson and his company, J.M. Robinson Co, with his un-professionalism, poor customer service, poor communication and poor workmanship.
