Me and my husband hired this company to build a building for us that we have saved up for, after the building was done a few days later we started noticing problems, the sliding door will not open or shut right, the roof has several leaks in it, the roof line starts at 2 inches and ends up 6 inches, we have called them several times and the so called owner James Carver tells us its not his problem any more that we will have to hire some one to fix it, he is nothing but a liar and a thief, his add says you get a 1 yr warranty but the barn is only 3 months old, come to find out he is all over other complaint sites to, if you are looking for some one to do a post framed building do not deal with JC Pole Barns.
I hired jc pole barns to build me a barn, I told him exactly what i wanted and we signed a contract, i wasn't at home when they finished the barn but they had already gotten payed. When i got home and went out to look at my barn i noticed my overhang that i payed for was not there, so i started calling him and he will not return any of my calls or address this problem. I would advise you if you are looking for some one to build you a barn call some one else, i have recently hired another company by the name of blitz builders to fix my problems.

Work, started and completed in Jan 2016 on polebarn/shop. was told by Neal McGuffy work was completed, and expected final payment. In walkround, l pointed out unfinished and exposed rafters. Neal told me he would return in a week to complete the work. Later l discovered roof leaking where builders patched steel roof with a series of screws in crack, in two different places, and discovered the trim was installed backasswards, pulling rainwater in, instead of shedding it out. Repeated calls to Neal McGuffy, he stated "i am out of town for a few months, when l get back l will fix it." "l have a broken ankle, but l will send my son over tomorrow" "I will be there tomoorow, l promise". No show. Repeated phone calls to Contractor James Carver l get similar lies: "l will be there tomorrow" "l will send Chester or Billy to look at it". Then he accusses me of improper construction. "l know Neal is a 17 year veteran barn builder, and l know he knows how to put on trim. Do you know more than he does??"
Well, l guess l do, because every rain, and morning dew, the untreated wood gets wet. And after countless promises, neither Neal nor James Carver have returned once. All l get from these liars are empty promises.

Carver does not deserve even the one star if you ask me. JC pole barns were hired to build a 24x40x12 hay barn for me. The barn was a joke. Front to back it was off by at least a foot, the whole building leaned to one side by nearly a foot, There was nothing plum or square about any part of this building. I filed a complaint and it took months to get someone out to NOT fix the issues but simply bandaid it however possible then inform me that I was stuck with it. A windy day blew it down destroying everything in it. That's when I realized that all the upright support posts were only in the ground 14 to 20 inches and not the minimum standard of 4 foot.
It's always buyer beware with any of these transient barn builders so you will always want to be onsight and know what's right or wrong while it's being built. But with James, It's for sure going to be your nightmare like it was mine. I took lots of pictures to prove what I'm saying. if anyone would like to see examples of his work.

I contracted JC to build me a pole barn. At the time I signed the contract he told me the barn would be complete by the end of October.
They actually finished December 8th. His crew walked all over the sheet metal while it was on the ground damaging it. I am currently in the hospital and I was told I would be out on DEC 9th and that I could do a final walk through on DEC 10th. JC got very upset and threatened to drive his truck to my house and tear down the building.
I have cameras all over my property and have on video his crew snorting something while working on the barn. So if you want a building that is 6 weeks past the promised date and have drugies building your pole barn then this is the guy for you.

I purchased a barn from jc pole barns about a year ago, since then the metal has faded and looks like crap, i was told when i purchased the barn the metal had a 40 year warranty, when i called him about it he tells me he can't do anything about it, i will tell anyone who is looking to have a pole barn built go some where else because this company is not trust worthy. I paid $9200 for a barn that is now going to cost me over $3500 to replace all the metal that has faded.

I purchased a pole barn kit from james carver and had it built to get a professional install.
what i got was far from that first noticed bent panels all around the building not 1 corner trim was square and unparallel
to the wall panels i then noticed roof panels a total of 9 was bent some seams had bad gaps in them i then noticed the
front overhead door opening was not square and the header was already sagging.i call him and told him of the problem
he wanted to know how many panels i needed i told him nine panels on the roof and seven on the walls he got upset with
me or at me as if i was lying and told him it needed to be fixed he then wanted pics i took pictures and sent them to him
and a video. thats when i noticed that one side of the front overhead door was two inches lower than the other and the roof
was sagging called him he to let him him know he said he would fix the problem. two weeks later 1 guy showed up
replaced the roof panels and several wall panels but did not replaced any end panels , leveled front metal on the building
but the roof and door frame are still bad door frame is 2 1/2 inches out of square and with the roof out of square u could
not realy see the problem upon hanging frront door and realizing the door could not be hung because a lack of a header
and being out of square i called him of the problem he asked if i instructed the repair man of the problem i said yes he
lost it ranting and raving about how he cant afford to keep sendinig someone out to fix the building. at this point i
had enough of his attitude as if i caused this problem. the only problem i caused in this transaction is doing buisnes
with jcpolebarns very unprofessional very rude i suspect a mental issue on his part because you dont treat customers
the way he treats them but after a few curse words and him threating to come to my house and kick my a*s .i will get
some estimates and send him the bill
