On 9/26/2015 I purchased a 2011 Harley Davidson Electra Glide Limited from the dealership of J & J Motors that was advertised on an EBAY listing which had 20,318 miles at the time. Upon pick up of the bike I was told that it was run through their shop and the bike was in sound condition, I purchased a 30 day temperary tag so the bike could be ridden until I received the title and could register it in my home state.
After several months passed and I had not yet received the title I contacted the dealership who seemed to be unaware of this failure to deliver and stated they would check into it. Within the next week or so I received the title 1/22/2016.
Since I reside in a state requiring state inspection I tok the bike to my local HD dealer for inspection and to have its 20,000 mile service performed since the dealer had not serviced it and had no knowledge of its service history. Upon inspection of the bike it was found there was lifter damage to the engine that required $817.95 in repairs that were not expected having just paid a comparable market price for the bike 1,600 miles prior to these findings.
I contacted the dealership to discuss these repairs and was told there is nothing they will do to assist, I even tried to be fair by discussing possible partial coverage of cost but they would hear nothing about it. I discussed the quality of the merchandise they are selling and how discouraged I am to have spent this type of money to have received something that I have to put this much money into after being told it is of sound condition.
