How I got to those sites when I started my search with Netgear logon support I don’t know but you can see why I THOUGHT HE WAS LEGIT WITH A “NETGEAR FIRMWARE UPDATE” as shown above. But I asked REPEATEDLY DURING THE CALL IF HE WAS WITH NETGEAR AND this man
lied repeatedly and assured me he was with Netgear but he has no association with Netgear!!!!
There was no purchase agreement for the support service. It was all verbal
At one point while he had control of my computer, the screen said Cisco and so that made me think it was legit so I continued with him. but then he showed me these three
sites to sign up for 5 year IT support, two of which provided 24/7 support, one for >$300, one for $299.99, the cheaper one for around $100. THAT's what the $299 was supposedly for. He kept assuring me that he was with Netgear so i thought he was a legitimate tech support but he obviously wasn't. I deleted his logmein with revo uninstaller and deleted the ip address contact THAT HE HAD PUT ON MY LASTPASS PROGRAM, revoked the purchase of 'support solutions' for $299.99 with Paypal.. There was no mention of a charge for his services, which i considered appropriate since i THOUGHT i had contacted him through the Netgear web site. i consider it a scam and will not pay for the services.
i got the email from Paypal with the payment request and Daniel, allegedly from Netgear, said it was for the IT program for 5 years. But i never got anything other than that and i didn't get a screen shot of anything that he was doing.
And then I got the email confirmation from Paypal with this weird gmail with NO connection to Netgear

there is no IT company called Support Solutions
there is no 5 year IT program with Netgear
Paypal refuses to acknowledge this as fraud and refuses to refund my money!
