Brighton Police Department no longer supports its citizens with services, Why? They are constantly out milking travelers passing through for revenue.
DO NOT SPEND MONEY FOR GAS FOOD LODGING ANYTHING IN ISLAND POND, BOYCOTT this crooked little town that will ALWAYS FIND YOU GUILTY CHARGE RIDICULOUS FEES AND FINES its not about public safety, its about revenue. Whatever happened to police departments that “protected and served”??? Police take unfair advantages and they stretch the truth in order to present revenue driven tickets to outsiders. AVOID THIS TOWN ! No Parking Areas are not marked and there is no way of knowing this untill you get a parking ticket. In every other area of the free world a stop at a stop sign is clearly defined as absence of motion but not in ISLAND POND the Sheriff will clock how long you stopped. Sheriff gives tickets in private parking lots. I know the law I am in law enforcement myself the Sheriff of Brighton is a D.H. !
Contable Ted Miller left Island Pond in 2007 . He was a very dishonest man. Sheriff Jeffrey Noyes took over the position in 2008. Noyes is just as dishonest as Ted Miller. If you stop at the infamous intersection of #114 and Cross strett you WILL get a $ 240.oo Ticket , and Three Points on your license. Attention motorcycle drivers …..Even if you come to a complete stop with one foot on the ground , you will be fined . You must stop , put both feet on the ground and count to three or you will be ticketed ( $ 240.00 ) for running a stop sign on an interstate highway . Common sense doesn’t exist in Island Pond Vermont !! Tourist take note …Vermont is nothing like the Newhart TV series !! Sheriff Noyes, like Miller, has only one interest. REVENUE. Avoid Island Pond . Speeding tickets ? Four miles over will get you pulled over. by the way , your dashboard speedometer is not accurate, and if you think you drove 35 in a 35 MPH zone , you are mistaken, you were going 45..TICKET and Points on your License...Did I mention you should avoid Island Pond ?
