I visited island powersports to purchase a new motorcycle. I previously bought a bike there (GSXR 600) I had a good experience then. I was looking to upgrade to a new GSXR 1000. We sat and discussed a deal, we reached a deal and my paper work went to the finance manager. They run my credit and I apply for the 0%. I figure, we go ahead and sign paper work and pickup the bike a few days later. After waiting, another individual approaches me and says we can't do the deal we will lose money. If you can't do a deal, no probem. Just say you can't do it, don't waste my time and run my credit. Very sleazy move, my first experience was good this was a bust. Stay away from the dealer and their shady dealings.
I brought my jetski to Island Powersports in Massapequa, NY in for repair after an accident. It was only a week old and badly damaged. I mentioned to Mike in the service department that with the cracked hull and the awful condition it was in I was hoping it would have to be replaced. Minutes later another worker tried to start it without success and told me the engine took on water.
On July 17th my insurance adjuster received the estimate for the repair and deemed it totalled. I was paid accordingly and went to pick up the ski as advised by my insurance company. Mike in service said to me in a loud enough voice for the four customers on line to hear, I thought you were going to take care of us for totalling the ski. I know he did nothing to total the ski as the condition it was in it was obviously totalled. I asked him, "You want me to pay you off?" I then proceeded to my salesman with whom I just sat with looking to purchase a new jetski.
My salesman, Ramon was in on the deal with the service man, Mike Correa. A customer told me that prior to me approaching the service desk Ramon walked up to Mike and the rubbed his fingers together indicating to get money from me. As I told him I would never buy from this store again and what nerve they had asking me for money a younger gentleman behind the desk looked up and said to me, its the right thing to do.
8 days later Island Powersports wants $1150 for me to pick up my totalled jetski. I asked for a copy of the signed contract with the $45 daily storage charge and $250 to review damages but even though promised twice today it still hasnt been sent to me.
