This item was purchased in May of 2015. It was sent without the adapter, so we couldn't use it with the included keyboard case for two weeks (the adapter was shipped from China). Within a month, the USB charging port became loose inside but was still able to be charged. In September (four months after purchase) the port completely broke. It is faulty workmanship and or defective.
We contacted customer service. I said I was inquiring about their warrenty program, and asked what we needed to do to get a replacement or have the item serviced. They sent me an email saying that the replacement period was over and we could send $43.00 (50% of the purchase price) to a gmail account for PayPal.
I wasn't going to send some random gmail account money through Paypal. That is beyond unreasonable. This item was a gift for a child (plus he had saved up his money). I told them that I was not satisfied with this and I wanted to know what their warrenty covered.
Customer service was informed that I wait 6 months to write reviews on electronics. I want to know first off, if the item is properly shipped, if it continues to work as stated, and if there is an issue, how customer service responds. Most logical adults complete this process.
The agent didn't like this information. He told me I was guilty of coersion and leaving negative feedback was a "federal crime." Of course, it isn't. I offered them another chance to make good on the warranty they have in writing on their web site. The agent claimed I "entered into a contract with them when I purchased the tablet and agreed to pay 50% of the purchase price after the 60 day return window." There is no record of this. I have screen shots of the entire check out process.
Furthermore, I was told that if I leave them negative feedback, they will try to "stop me." My comments and questions were deleted off their facebook page and reported as "hate speech." Interesting... facts and quotes from their agents are being removed.
I want them to either send a replacement device, or fix the broken one at their expense. If they make good on the warrenty they sold us, I will ammed the complaint and let you all know that someone in the company has good customer service.
