I was hired by Bill Hayes, CEO of Irrigation Direct, Inc. to help him grow his business IrrigationDirect.com. Bill signed and executed the agreement on 8.19.15 with a start date of 9.01.15 for 15 months of digital marketing services, yet cancelled the contract after the first month.
He agreed to prepay for the month of services, yet never did. However, I worked on what was promised in the scope of services and delivered all and he was happy about the direction. He claimed several times that the 'check is in the mail' yet never sent it to me. I have been very professional and patient, yet it is now 4 months past due.
After many calls and emails, he has only paid 25% of the invoice. I have contacted him a couple of times since to get an idea of when the remaining balance will be paid, yet he is still unresponsive.
Bill claimed he didn't have the funds to hire me at the time, yet said this after the work was done and delivered. We had been in talks for weeks before he signed and executed a very clear and concise agreement outlining the services, timeline, and costs associated. However, he continued to lie throughout the engagement and still today.
Because of the scope of work and services I had planned on for IrrigationDirect, Inc., I had to pass on other business as well. I've lost business due to this and still owed several thousand dollars from the work provided to Irrigation Direct 3 months ago.
Because the engagement was a referral from his friend and a peer in our business, I have been very leniant on all but have prepared to take this to higher levels, yet first stops are here and the BBB. I'm still trying to collect and have been professional about it the entire time, yet Bill Hayes has not been. I feel any and all businesses that work with them or plan to should know of this situation with a "buyer beware" going into any engagement with them.
I have given several options for Bill to come though, yet he only continues to BS me, and it is one of the most unprofessional business engagements I've encountered.
