I had a horrible experience last year with Irontown Homes in Utah, a modular home developer. irontownhomes.com/ They were recommended by modular home designers, and perhaps they treat the designers better, or individuals that build high-end homes. My modular home was 1,300 square feet, with two bedrooms and two baths, and I paid Irontown close to $225K.
First of all, I was told the modules would be delivered in early June 2016, and the stitching of modules by my local general contractor would take about 10 days. Based on that, I applied for a cash out mortgage, since I had paid cash for everything. The modules were finally delivered at the end of July, and the stitching took five weeks, mostly due to problems with Irontown not sending missing parts or replacing defective parts.
