In oct of 2011 Iowa tank lines recuited me to haul crude oil for them by making several false and fraudulent promises. I told them I had no trucking experience and did not have a cdl. They said that would be no problem, because they would give me all the help and training I asked for. Then they said that not having a cdl shouldnt be a problem because they would approve drivers that I submitted to them in just a few days. They lied, they knew that driver turnover was horrendous and that you absolutely needed to be able to drive yourself to back up your operations when your drivers quit with no notice.
It took them up to 21 days to approve my driver applicants and never less than 2 weeks. More lies. Then their manager bad mouthed my trucks after they accepted them for contract work and recruited my drivers to work for them. They ignored my requests for help and training completely. They said I could work immediately after having my trucks driven to utah for inspection and approval, but they required me to do over $30,000.00 of repair work on the trucks befor they would approve them for work, saying I wouldnt have a problem paying for the repairs because I could have all the work I wanted. More lies.
When my drivers returned to stanley ND Iowa tank lines would not allow me to start working and stole/recruited my drivers away because they wouldnt allow them to drive my trucks and they wanted immediate income. Their manager said my trucks were death traps after inducing me to agree to their demands for repairs. I then waited three weeks more to get another driver through their approval system and when he got to Stanley to start ITL said they had no oil to haul for several days. Five days after Itl finally gave me some limited loads for my new driver to haul, my driver informed me that ITL was going to allow him to contract directly with them and he woul be quitting me in a week.
At that point I saw that it would be impossible to work under their system and have any chance of success. When recruiting me ITL said I could have all the work I wanted 24/7, a lie. Itl said they would give me training and help, a Lie. Itl induced me to agree to $ 30,000 of repairs on two old trucks that I told them had cost me $10,000 or less each. But they said if I agreed to the repairs, I could easily repay the cost because they would give me all the work I wanted, huge lie. ITL said they would approve new drivers in a few days, a lie. ITL stole my drivers and left me with no way to operate my trucks and earn income to pay for repairs or anything else.
