In reflecting upon my recent experience with inventRight, LLC, I feel compelled to relay my experience to caution others before using them to attempt to license their product(s).
The cost is quite expensive (over $4,000.00). But, don't be fooled into thinking that the more you pay, the higher the degree of success you will achieve. What they fail to relay to potential clients is the cold, harsh reality relative to your low percentage of success contrasted with the high degree of financial outlay. As with any larger investment of time and money, the risks should be divulged in order for clients to assess their appetite for potential loss of their money in the very real event that their product(s) are not licensed. Speaking for myself, I am currently, literally, facing the loss of my home due to the lack of results and money lost in inventRight. Anticipation is set high and expectations are fueled upon sign up. I was left with little doubt at the prospect of my success.
There were very troublesome and problematic issues involved in my product development. The graphics department repeatedly got the design wrong which stretched out over an unreasonable amount of time. For the money spent, their ability to create a virtual prototype left much to be desired. I was left totally frustrated with the inability of their department to capture my very simple design. At last, with some intervention by others, it was completed.
Finally, the sell sheet design and written content was approved. However, after sending it out to several companies, I realized they had my phone number wrong on the sell sheet. It was not even close to my actual phone number. I have no idea how much damage was done due to the various companies' inability to make contact with me. If they tried that number and reached an unknown party, just imagine the credibility issue that presented. Who would proceed to pursue the licensing of a product in that event. No one.
Bottom line, I was not contacted by any of the over 20 companies I reached out to despite my best efforts in following the guidelines provided by inventRight. I feel disillusioned, shortchanged and cheated by the handling of my invention efforts. I can’t recoup that money I lost and now am facing the forced sale of my home.
In looking back, if the low prospects of success had been revealed to me despite the use of a company specializing in assisting inventors to license their products, I would not have chosen to risk my hard-earned money in such a venture. Unless potential inventors have a lot of money to throw away, I would advise people to steer clear of inventRight and pursue the invention process online through other resources that are free or very low cost and openly available to the public.
I demand a refund from inventRight, LLC due to the initial lack of disclosure regarding the low chances of licensing a product through them, their shoddy graphics department workmanship and sabatoging my efforts through wrongly publishing a false phone number for me on my sell sheet that very well could have cost me the licensing of my product. They don't deserve my money and I demand it be returned ASAP.
