I was recently charged over $5,000 for my annual subscription to Quickbooks Enterprise Solutions. It's Sunday, I have accounting work I need to take care of because I will be too busy tomorrow to work with it. Like before, Quickbooks will not open, the software is telling me my payment lapse. They have my credit card number on file, they managed to charge me for the year. How could it lapse? Yes, this is an error that has been going on for over a year and happens about every other month.
No one at Quickbooks is smart enough to fix it and it takes hours for a tech support person to work through it so Quickbooks will open for another 2 or 3 months. Until then, your business is place on hold. No weekend support for their awful software. Been a QB customer since 1993. I think it's time for change. They don't give you any credit for issues either.
So I thought I would try quickbooks online even though it's way too expensive for what you get. I went through the registration and paid with credit card. First time I logged in a popup appeared stating that I have to provide a cell phone number before using my now paid for service. They didnt ask for my cell number during the registration for good reason........too many people would turn away. So Intuit gets you on the hook and then tries to real you in with the demand for a cell number. What can you do now that you paid. Most would agree to fork over more of your private information. But not me. I would rather spread the word about what a nasty tactic Intuit uses to get your money.
Do not use quickbooks cloud unless you dont care about handing your cell number to everyone on the internet.
This company is not legit. They send you an official looking product key and product item but when you get to the point of installation it refers you to call Intuit to get authorization you can't get one because the license they give you is invalid. This totally screws up your existing QuickBooks program. You'll have to reinstall your old program to recover you files. That is why we are always encouraged to back up critcal information. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY AND FILE A COMPLAINT WITH PAYPAL WHO THEY PROFESS TO USE AND MAKE THEM APPEAR LEGIT!
I've seen several complaints on the rip off report regarding intuit which is a credit card processing service supposedly to help small business acheive better sales, coupled with quick books to keep track of business expenses. Firstly Intuit is not your friend at all. Businesses should put as much distance as possible between their finances and this credit card service.
Charge backs : Recently our company had the first chargeback in 25 years filed on us through Wells Fargo bank the credit card company. Wells Fargo called us on the phone , they had a claim number and it was a real person with a real name. They asked for documents and we faxed over documents which were received and the claim against the customer were denied due to specifics in the contract. Simple and how things are supposed to work in the real world.
How Intuit handled it. After the said customer was denied directly through his own credit card company they decided since intuit processed the card to do the chargeback there too. I received a call from my bank 36 hours ahead of intuits first email that someone was casually draining my business account. We issued an immediate stop payment on the code ID that intuit was using. Intuits email looked like spam , no contact information other than a non clickable email address, no phone numbers to call just a fax number that was disconnected. Basically zero information. So we responded to the email and got an auto message that the email would be responded to within 2 business days. A week passed and no response to the email.
Intuit claims on their website that they are there to protect the buying customer only and you are just a fee absorbing entity to them. I would advise any and all businesses to find an alternate source like squareup or someone else to do their card processing .
Course of action taken for us. We immediately caught it through the security at our small town bank. Issued stop payments and since intuit decided to do a chargeback on us after hitting us with fees for years without so much as calling us with the claim we filed a chargeback against them for our subscription fee as part of the deal.
Bottom line if you want to see your money vanish then keep using intuit to process payments. They are all about the fees involved. There is no customer service, no address, no phone numbers to call but they do have your financial information because they are also quickbooks and they are not on your side for anything but the cash.
