I have unfortunately been an unwilling customer of this fraud of a company for over a year. I've written multiple complaints and made way too many complaints to them over the phone. Ex: when their lovely device disabled my entire car and I was unable to get to a new job because my car was useless because of intoxalock and I ended up being let go. Fired. Thanks intoxalock! They tried making it up to me by giving me a free month. Seriously? How about use all of that money you charge for recalibration fees or missed retests on making a flawless product. Nah, that's too much to ask. I've asked DMV employees, police officers, lawyers and even a criminal court judge how is this device any different than texting while driving? And every single one of them told me "it's not." It's a scam. Most of the interlock companies are incredibly fraudulent. That was verbatim from a Judge. Definitely more distracting than a text or phone call. I've had multiple near misses on major roads and highways because I blew "too soft" or "too hard". When I asked an intoxalock employee "who would be held liable if I was to get into an accident and kill someone"? The answer was just silence. Now I'm free. But wait! I still can't use my car because three months ago I called them and didn't have time to be on hold for over an hour, so I emailed them and kindly asked for an employee to contact me so I can get this joke of a company out of my life. No call. No emails. Nothing. So now here I am writing this in an attempt to get this device removed from my car. Oh geez! I have a bill of over $3,000 dollars. Here's the thing. Yes intoxalock I still have one of your devices collecting dust in my unusable car, so if you actually think you're going to charge me for a piece of s**t product, considering the hell you've put not only me through but from the looks of all of your reviews it seems all of your customers are having the same experience as well. I want the device removed. If I don't hear back within one business day, I guess good luck trying to get a cent from me. Completely willing to bring this case to a lawyer (yup! One who is a DWI attorney who said your company is a complete scam and would love nothing more than to make it well known not to do business with you.) I'm posting this on all consumer websites. I want this removed immediately. Thank you for your time. Instead of worrying about how much money you can squeeze out of people, you should focus your attention on making a better product.

Intoxalock is absolutely a horrible company!!! Phone wait times 20-45 minutes everytime!!! This company sends out computer generated messages of equipment that has already been returned!!!The lease is a total scam ! They will try and nickel and dime you for every little thing even if its not in the lease!!!!

DO NOT MAKE A HUGE MISTAKE AND USE THIS HORRIBLE RACIST COMPANY!!! EMPLOYEES TREAT YOU LIKE A CRIMINAL AND HAVE NO COMPASION FOR THERE OWN MISTAKES THAT YOU WILL HAVE TO ACOUNT FOR!!!!!HORRIBLE COMPANY!

Since I had this device from May 20 2017 until now November 14 2017 its been nothing but hell. I was court ordered to have this device in my car for six month (05/20/17-11/20/17) how ever when I went to renew my license yesterday 11-13-17 my license indicated that the interlock device expires 05-18-18 I received no noticed in the mail from the DMV nor Intoxalock of this new termination date so I contacted Intoxalock and the Rep was so rude and uneducated on explaining why I had two different lease ending dates. Since I had this device I passed every start-up blow and retest I had only one lockout for leaving my car running while I went inside of the gas station and missed a retest and had to blow for a third retest and passed. I had to pay a $75 lockout fee.

Last week after having this device for five in a half months I got my first failed alert on the device because I sprayed my perfume right before I had to blow to start my car and I was so terrified because I never failed a blow test and didn't know what to expect but I only had to wait four minutes and thirty seconds to try the start-up again and I PASSED then I was able to start my car and leave. Few days later I received a second failed when my mother in law asked to drive my car for the first time which she had trouble blowing correctly because she have a pace maker in her heart and the device kept telling her to blow harder she also advise me she had just brushed her teeth and use mouthwash which will cause a failed result and after I showed her how to blow she passed the initial start-up and retest.

I don't deserve to have the device in my vehicle for another six month I have a perfect driving history since my DUI in 2014, NEVER failed a retest and a almost perfect interlock testing record I got my first failed message at start-up five month after having my device installed due to perfume not alcohol and I make my device lease payments on time every month and If I got paid late before I can do my calibration I always call to let them know. It comes down to the Companies best interest- MONEY future revenue, because admitting that they might have defective equipment wouldn’t help them out in that area. This device is also destroying my Mercedes by killing my battery and causing computer issues. Ive served my time with this device and learned my lesson. I want this device removed on the date promised by the courts and stated on my intoxalock contracts which is 11-20-2017

**** UPDATED***** Today is 11/30/17 I still have this stupid device on my vehicle I contacted the company on my supposed to be last date on this installation 11/20/17 they couldn't answer none of my questions like always but told me they are emailing someone in the DMV almost a week later NO response from Intoxalock nor the DMV to why this device is still in my car I already gave them over $600 for the 6 months and now they want more money from me this RIDICULOUS. I received no notification from this company nor did I receive any information from the DMV. No letters, emails or phone calls I don't know what's going on. Intoxalock is ruining my life and my car. They’ve submitted false reports to the DMV this company is a money-hungry con artist that needs to be shut down.

I've had intoxilock for 2 years now. I've had reacuring issues with battery and device reading low battery power or lock outs. I have had several battery replaced in my vehicle. Always have to jump start my car anywhere from a week to an month after replacing battery. Have replaced wiring alternator start. Had a shop tell me they where 99.9% sure that intoxilock was causing problem. They had my car for months. Interlock has replaced unit three times. I m certain first day it was installed device was installed improper. When I first left lights didn't work. When i left steering wheel wasn't working correct. Called intoxilock they did nothing. I'm pretty sure due to poor installation it cause some sort of issue with my vehicle. Sick of fighting with intoxilock. Would like to talk to an attorney.

I had this device in my vehicle for 24 hours and it wrecked my NEW vehicle! And after being on hold with customer service for literally hours and hours they told me to just to it somewhere!

I HAVE HAD THE INTOXILOCK IGNITION DEVICE IN MY VEHICLE FOR 7 MONTHS NOW. I HAVE HAD A FEW UNITS PUT INTO THE VEHICLE ABOUT 3 TIMES. NOW THE COMPANY ARE NOT SENDING NEW UNITS THEY ARE USING THE SAME UNITS AND CALIBRATING THEM ONCE A MONTH. THE LAST UNIT THEY INSTALLED IN MY VEHICLE I HAVE BEEN HAVING MAJOR TROUBLE WITH IT. I HAVE CALLED CUSTOMER SERVICE NUMEROUS TIMES AND THE REPRESENTATIVES ARE ARROGANT. IN THE 7 MONTHS I HAVE HAD THIS IN THE VEHICLE I HAVE HAD TROUBLE GETTING THE MACHINE TO EVEN TURN ON. LAST MONTH I HAD A FAILED RESULT FOR NO APPARENT REASON. I CALLED THE COMPANY AND THEY WAIVED THE $75.00 FEE THEY CHARGE YOU FOR A FAILED RESULT. I EXPLAINED THAT THERE WAS NO REASON FOR THIS UNIT TO BE MALFUNCTIONING. THIS WAS LAST MONTH THIS HAPPENED. I JUST RECEIVED A PHONE CALL FROM MY PROBATION OFFICER WHO INFORMED ME THAT I HAVE TO WEAR AN ANKLE BRACELET FOR 30 DAYS DUE TO THE MALFUNCTION OF THE UNIT. I HAVE NEVER FAILED A TEST IN THE 7 MONTHS I HAVE HAD THIS UNIT. I WAS THEN TOLD BY INTOLILOCK THAT ANYTHING COULD CAUSE THIS FAIL. CERTAIN FOODS, PIZZA, ETC. I DO NOT FEEL I SHOULD BE PERSACUTED FOR FOODS THAT CAUSE A FAILURE. I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO WEAR AN ANKLE BRACELET BECAUSE OF THESE MACHINES WHICH CLEARLY DO NOT WORK PROPERLY.

Greetings, to whom ever reads this, do not get into a contract with these people, they are a terrible buisness they take your money, and they dont follow there contracts, and when you need assistance no answers or replies.

Not to mention the hardware is faulty they are very dangerous to all on the road, the drivers musst try and breathi into a box that doesnt work proper while going down the interstate and in everyday traffic, and when they dont work they lock donw your car, btw they never are accurate. and always failing to work as inplied.

amongst the terrible customer service and faulty hardware they dont follow therough with ther contract for prices and more. so why is this company still endangering the lives of people on the road and allowed to contitnue to stay in buisness. avoid doing buisness with these crooks.

Again i am a observer of these faulty devicesa and awful buisness practices. and i think that hey should be stopped from risky peoples lives and taking money for nothing.

I had an Intoxalock deviced installed in June of 2021 for my second DUI. I was okay with this. Little did I know it would turn into a nightmare.

I went through the usual problems with the device from what other people had told me, all of them being mechanical issues with my vehicle or the device.

I have never had a positive alcohol detection.

I have receipts for all repair work done on my vehicle, but they would not accept them. I am tagged for missed blows while I am sleeping. I even got charged for a lockout during my calibration.

I need help!

I’ve reached out to Intoxilock numerous times to no avail. I even asked to speak with a supervisor or manager. After waiting on hold for 45 minutes after weeks of calling I finally am connected to a women who was very demeaning. She gets on the phone and instantly is dismissive of everything I am telling her about my device.

I tell her my handset doesn’t work and that my vehicle wouldn’t start forcing me to have to take a Lyft to my job. The next morning I come out and try again and the handset is in lockout reset but my truck starts so I can go to work but now I have to take it into the calibration center to have the unit reset.

I call and tell them there is no reason it should be in lockout and the women tells me it was because my battery wasn’t charged yet it starts the next day? If the battery wasn’t charged it wouldn’t have started the following day at all unless the battery magically charged itself which is impossible.

All these actions can easily be seen on the camera that is installed with the device in my truck but she refused to even look any further into anything I reported to her. While this woman continues talking down to me she says she will not remove the lockout fee and that if something is wrong with my device I can take it back to the calibration center and pay over $300 to have them test it and IF it is found to not work they will refund me.

I explain to her that it works when it wants to and other times I can press the button numerous times and it will not respond. I can tell in her voice she doesn’t care and doesn’t believe me as she once again tells me the same thing about having it tested in a very demeaning and dismissive tone. You can see in the videos that the device does not respond and when it comes on it doesn’t register when breathing into it.

This is not the first time I have had a problem with this company. In 2019 the device reinfected me with strep throat 3 times. Once again they did nothing until I posted medical information online along with proof of having been reinfected with strep throat from their unsanitary device.

Only at this time did they reach out and replace the handset with one that looked like it came out of a junk bin asking me to please remove my review which I should have never done. So once again I had to inconvenience myself to drive to the calibration center which is 30 minutes away from me to pick up and install the handset.

At this point I’ve absolutely had it with the lack of professionalism and how they treat their customers. I have kept records of everything and now I have taken video’s of the device so others can see for themselves seeing no one at the company wants to be bothered with actual customer support. This seems to be the only way to get anyones attention at this company.

I now have Asthma which requires me to use an inhaler this can be easily proven with my medical records once again which I will be happy to provide once I file a lawsuit. They lie about cleaning the unit when you have it calibrated. All that happens is a solution with a small amount of alcohol and air is blown through to test its ability to properly detect the presence of alcohol in a persons breath.

There is absolutely nothing that is done to clean or sanitize the unit. The moisture that accumulates inside the device after breathing into it stays there and is a breeding ground for bacteria. I am sure there is other bacteria but until I find a lab that can test for other contaminants I was only able to buy a black mold test kit from the local hardware shop.

I also added the picture of the Petri dish test results for the presence of black mold which tested positive. This is what you are breathing into your lungs. I made a mistake and now I’m paying for it with my health. Companies bent over backwards during the pandemic to accommodate the requirements set forth yet this company did absolutely nothing to protect their customers health and safety and still does nothing.

When you call to have the device installed or even just to inquire about it you’ll instantly get someone right away that will hound you to install their device, both through email and by phone. I have kept all email communications from the original install as a lawsuit against this company is long overdue.

I have also reached out to numerous news media outlets so as they may run a segment and help get some traction behind this constant issue that they are allowed to get away with, with no repercussions, standards or accountability. The safety and health of Intoxilocks customers means absolutely nothing to them.

Once the device is installed if you ever have a problem getting someone to help you is near impossible. Numerous times through their app when I’ve had to take my truck in for service I’ve made it crystal clear that it was in for service and yet when it goes into lockout I have to spend ridiculous amounts of time on the phone just to get someone to reset the device so I am not charged.

This company, their product and their customer service doesn’t even rate a 1 star review. I don’t expect the company to follow through and at this point this is why a lawsuit is the only way forward. If you have to have one of these devices installed in your vehicle please go with any other company.

Although not having experience with other companies they may all be the same. I made a mistake hence why I had to install this device. Thatmistake does not give them the right to put my health and their other customers health and safety at risk exposing us todangerous bacteria and mold growing inside the tube of the device.

Intoxalock has absolutely no regard for your civil rights just because a person got a DUI or DWI does not give them the right to treat someone like a subhuman piece of trash. With that said I have also reached out to my state's Attorney General's office so they as well can look into this matter. Stay away from this company.

Harassment in Wisconsin

They have called our number many times leaving a message asking for our daughter about a claim for non-payment of their product that was NEVER purchased. It is a major scam. They need to get their act together or they will be turned over to the Consumer Better Business Bureau.

Worst Customer Service I have ever dealt with.....

Between Boss Hog's install which was incorrect to the multiple times calling and being put on hold everytime for over 30 mintues and paying multiple times for their defective unit when the car cannot be used.

They lured me in With the low price and stating that I could if I was not satisfied with the services I could cancel anytime. Two months in they said that I needed to sign a contract. This contract stated that I needed to use thier service until my time was up with the state. I called to inquire as to why I was told there was no contract and why after 2 months you say I need to sign a contract or you would report that I was in violation to the state. They told me that the sales person mistold me information and they require a contract. I told them that I would not sign a contract and they reported noncompliance to the state. I went to another vendor. They removed the Intoxalock device and installed the new one. I returned the Intoxalock device to the place where it was installed. Months later I received a bill for over $2000 stating I owe for the equipment, service fees, calibration fees, uninstalation fees, and early termination fees. I called Intoxalock and they stated that they did not receive the equipment back and that because I did not fulfill the contract with them I am liable for the fees. I then asked, why I was charged for uninstalling the device if they did not receive the equipment back... how do they know that it was uninstalled?? They responded by telling me that the installation vendor reported the return of the equipment. I asked then why am I being charged equipment rental if you admittingly have the equipment. She said I had to go back to the vendor pick up the equipment and send it back before the rental fees would stop. I contacted the vendor and they reported that the equipment was sent back to Intoxalock. I called Intoxalock back and they denied they received it and that fees and interest would continue until they receive the equipment back. I am now at a loss as what to do, they have reported it to my credit report as a collection. It is a BIG expensive mess. They will not work with me to correct this. I don’t know what to do... my next step is to file a lawsuit against Intoxalock to fight the fact I do not owe the money. However in the meantime, my credit has dropped significantly. These ignition interlock companies know that they have you bent over because they can simply put you in noncompliance with the state and charge you anything they want and ruin your credit. #DUInotWorthIt I do not recommend this company!

I initially had the Intoxilock installed on July 7, 2017 by a court order for a DUI. Under South Dakota State Law, I am required to blow into the device twice a day between the hours of 5:30 and 8:00 AM and PM. State law requires a zero tolerance and in South Dakota that means .000. Anything over that is a probation violation.

I had no problems with the device until May 9, 2018. I quit drinking January 28, 2017 and have not consumed a drop of alcohol since. I had a different device installed on May 7, 2018 per recalibration requirements. I would say new device, but that unit was definitely USED. It was missing a pad on the back and the button would only start the machine after several presses. It was really slow to read and just generally seemed worn out. I seriously doubt it had been reworked or recalibrated at Intoxilock prior to sending it back out. In fact, a customer service agent at Intoxilock told me that they are ALL used and that they get them returned and just send them back out. This same agent told me that their machines don't give false positives because they detect all sources of alcohol. All sources of alcohol doesn't just mean beer, wine, and hard liquor. It means gases in the air including gasoline, perfume, and numerous other chemicals.

On May 9, 2018, I was working in my yard. I had filled my lawn mower with gas and it sloshed over on my hands. I had also had my my lawn chemically treated with weed killer and fertilizer that morning. It never occurred to me that I should wash my hands before it did my nightly PBT. That night I went into my garage where the odor of the chemicals was present and blew like I did every night at 5:30. I could not believe it when the Intoxalock registered .014. I was horrified beyond belief because in South Dakota that means you are convicted of a probation violation. The retest registered .013. I know that the feature of the Intoxalock that requires you to inhale back into the machine pulls in the surrounding air and whatever chemicals are on your hands or in the surrounding atmosphere. I was told by a customer service agent that if you can smell it in the air, it will show up on an Intolalock test. I can not believe that such a faultily designed and sienctifically inaccurrate machine is allowed to be used for zero tolerance law enforcement monitoring.

I called the Sherriff's Office and requested to come in for alcohol testing to prove that I had not consumed alcohol. I was denied and told it was too late. The violation had already been recorded. I also called Intoxalock and told them what had happened and requested a new machine. I was told that their machine didn't give me a false a positive, it just "picked up on some other source of alcohol." However, that did not stop them from charging me for a reset and a new machine plus shipping and handling. None of that mattered though as I was arrested the next morning and spent the next month in the county jail before I was even allowed to see a judge.

I am now attempting to fight this charge as I am facing more jail time. If anyone has any information about Intoxalock or any similar experiences that you are willing to share with me, it would help me to prove that this didn't 'just happen to me'. This company and this device should not be allowed to continue to market this device and sell it to unsuspecting customers who will be ripped off financially and potentially have their lives ruined. The units had to be completely repalced 3x in 5 months each time cuased me to miss 5 days of work towing,storage transportation expenses,as well as a disruption of my right to peace Which cannot be measured. I'm filing a complaint i will seek compensation!!! Hi all

to start with yes I had to put this in I got this installed in 2016 on a cinderella license in Massachusetts, the day it was installed i ha of course had to have someone drive me home in it the intaller never reconnected my headlights then precedded to say they were not plugged in really they worked when i went in as i have daytime running.. fixed the next day pain in a** too blow into car. now all of a sundden power windows dont open, blue fuse fixed but only one window will open, the 3rd day car wont start, jump it runs fine, this continues till the point i had to jump it so many times i killed battery,

replaced battery at a cost of 250.00 because i took it too dealser that deals with intoxalok. sitll same issues of intoxalock draining battery, still no window radio, doesnt work and no interior lights now, the other day we went to take the car out and no crank fullly charged battery let me blow so push it out of garage to inspect and found the fried wiring in fuses in engine this is a 2000 vw bettle diesel 1.9 turbo. so i get it towed to volkswagon 3 days and they cannot work on it nor disconnect or i will get introuble.

Intoxalok told me who cares if you get in trouble. your problem. so no i had to get it towed to one of there dealers not my regular calibration one (cause they don't work on vw) finially spoke to someone somewhat normal and they said you can only have your car repaird at there shops, as they can disconnet. Then he preceded to tell me that it was probably installed wrong thats why i have fried wiring...

my machine will show 0000 all the time as no one is allowed to drive it except my sister who still i make blow into a protable... this machine has cost me thounsands of dollars work damage. I recommend That massachestts allows for early termination to switch and or get out out of I have the money to pay cas for a new car but not with that pices of s*** that fries wiring,

I went online to make a payment for my interlock device in my car. I authorized the past due balance payment. I checked the next day in my bank account was 'double’ charged. I called and was told the money could not be refunded. I was told the amount charged to my bank account was the total balance, and I was charged that balance because it was 'so close to it being past due that it took the whole balance.’ I called my bank and filed a dispute. The money was returned and the balance was added back on my account with Intoxalock. I then saw there was a $30 'charge back’ fee added to my balance as well. Every time I call them, you have to verify your entire life; last 4 or your SSN, zip code, name, phone number, and full address. The customer service representative you speak to is rude, talks over you, doesn’t listen to you, or puts you on hold to do god knows what to your account. None of them have the authority to refund or waive fees. If you need something waived or refunded, you must leave a message with the supervisor. The supervisor is never available to take active calls. I have called several times and left several messages and have not received a call back from anyone I will pay my balance, but refuse to pay the charge back fee for something they did without authorization. This is not the first time I have had to call them due to the defective nature of their device, customer service, and website. The entire company, all of their employees, are the worst kind of people. I have never encountered an employee with this company that will help you, wants to help you, or has compassion for their customers and the situation they are in.

Customer service is AWFUL. I've had the device for two weeks and it is constantly throwing error codes, restarts and requires a 5 minute wait time everytime I start my car. On 3 occasions I have gone into a store and come out to my car (NOT RUNNING) saying I missed a test and the car will be stopped. The company will not send me a new unit without making me drive out of my way to have it inspected, (FOR A DEVICE THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN INSPECTED BEFOREHAND), or worried about the fact that this will be reporting false information to a COURT.

The customer service team is RUDE, DISRESPECTFUL, and not helpful. Will transfer you a million times or to a voicemail (of a supervisor, who will not return your call), or they will just simply disconnect from your chat.

Horrible business.

DO NOT USE THEM. Go with SMART START.

Even more issues today. Device not working at all. I am retracting anything good said about this company. The device and customer service are garbage. can't even get a hold of anyone to fix the problems.

More issues. SURPRISE! Device isn't working at all now and my car isn't driveable! This company has done nothing but cause me trouble and is not helping in any way! I am being charged a tow fee now for something that is not even my fault. Amber promised me compensation for my time without my car, but we will see if that actually happens. The car towing needs to be paid by THEM, as well as credits on my account before this is removed.

DON'T PAY ATTENTION TO THE FAKE PAID REVIEWS*** I contact this company because of the reviews (BIG MISTAKE) I was told over the phone by Sherlene ext #328 that I would have to pay $150 for install because of the type of Car I have (2012 Mercedes) I agreed. I went yesterday (May 20th 2017 @ 10:am) to drop my car off i asked the spanish lady at the front desk was it a $150 she said yes i have your ticket right here i asked her can I pay now she said no after the installation and to come back in 4 hours because it will take 4hrs to install I got a phone at 3:12 pm that my car was ready for pick up I got there at 3:30 and asked to see my car I was told I had to pay first which I agreed she hand me my documents and my bill was $205.18 I was so pissed because I was told $150 flat so i asked why my bill is more money after she and the rep told me it was $150 she said something in spanish and then told me she thought it was $150 but she wasn't sure.

I sign the papers and PAID the amount and was escorted to my car the jamaican mechanic man told me how to use to the device while they all watched and my car would NOT start after trying 6 times my car would NOT cranked up. I'm asking him what's going on with my car and he couldn't answer and told me to leave my car until Monday and they will contact the company. So now I have no car to get to work. I will wait until monday If my car still won't work I'll have to choice to get a lawyer. Now my car don't work and I was tricked into paying first before seeing my car. RIPPED OFF

The device froze twice this winter as I sat freezing waiting to start the car... a few days later I had a fail then a pass five minutes later... then I again had a .02 fail and lost my license because it would not let me retest... I even tried to get ahold of a PO to get an ETG done but they were unavailable! Then it went into a lockout saying it was my battery when my battery was charged... it was the unit the whole time!!!! I've missed work... etc. Because if it!!!!

I rather do business with el choppo

Samething everyone else experienced. Had the device two months when my car magically died. Come to find out the device shorted out my cars starter and intoxalock called it a coincidence. All around they are liars...I would honestly feel more comfortable and safe doing business with freaking Hitler or a terrorist because at least when they are with the bull shit you know what to prepare for. Intoxalock is so sneaky and shady it's scary that they have such a high rating within the BBB because they are clearly bad business....which begs the question...what the fuck is the point of the BBB?!?!?!

I am so mad at Intoxalock! I should have been able to get my license back two weeks ago but because of their extremely poor service (I have called and emailed them and got no response and after several attempts to get someone to send my information to the DMV, I've still got no response at all.)

I would give them negative 10 out of 10 if I could. If they actually cared at all about their customers, I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone. Infact I will go out of my way to say "don't use intoxalock" they are absolutely worthless and completely undeserving of anyones business.

If you aren't sure, don't take my word for it. Check other sites for reviews on this company, they are aweful to everyone.

I agree with all of you about Intoxalock! Nothing but trouble and convenient lockouts for no apparent reason. They try to charge outrageous unneccesary fees and now I am being told I have to keep it an additional two months because the date on the Interlock license is Nov. 5. I had it installed last Sept because I had to have hip replacement surgery and wanted to get it in but didn't go for the license until I was able to actually heal enough to drive. Noone ever said anything about the time starting on the date of the license. What kind of sense does that make?? So, if I did the opposite, I could have had it out two months EARLY? I highly doubt that! I have filed TWO BBB complaints and just had another lockout after filing this last one! I PRAY someone can start a class action suit because I definitely want to be part of it! Shady business practices, customer service sucks, you always have to so to a supervisor an this last time I requested email correspondence because I am out of town for family emergency and my phone is acting up and I have heard absolutely nothing! AND they charged my card without my approval and then said they wouldn't send the new unit until I paid $170! I feel like that is a type of blackmail! If I didn't pay it, no unit, car won't start, can't get to work wth?

This company is a nightmare to deal with. 3 months with no problems, but then the 4th device I was sent was faulty. Minutes after the previous device recorded .000 BAC the new device registered .022-.039. Of course this is an expensive Positive Reading and they collect fines and fees and overpriced overnight shipping. Once finally able to talk to a representitive without being hung up on, they of course deny any posibility of a faulty device. But I had no recourse other than to cough up the money for a "lockout kit" to be sent (its just another of the same unit, but with a different price tag). The new device of course registered .000 (6 months sober, no surprise to see zeroes). I was assured that if the readings were invalid I could be reimbursed for all the fees and fines and even the shipping. The problem though, is that they alone determine the validity of the readings. They also stand to profit if the readings are determined valid.

Of course, they determined the readings were valid despite "Vernon" (supposedly a manager) assuring me he would test the device himself. I was told to call him back to see the results of the test. When I finally get ahold of him (had to use a friend's phone, I believe he has my number on auto-reject) he claims that he determined the readings were valid by looking at the logs. He says they dont test the devices. The same guy that said he would personally test the device! How can they collect a "calibration fee" when nothing is calibrated?? He was nice enough to report these "violations" to my probation officer though. Its my word against theirs, these criminals running this racket. Thats what it is, they create the problems by sending faulty devices, and they charge money to fix the problems. I was told I would be reimbursed the fees but of course they didnt. They were willing to promise me anything to get me to take down my BBB report against them. How they have a A+ rating with 100% negative feedback is amazing. I wish I had done more research and checked here before signing up with them.

Please dont make the same mistake I made, do not under any circumstances use Intoxalock. They are crooks and liars and thieves.

I could not possibly fully explain all of the misinformation and incorrect instructions this company's ill-trained customer service reps dig out on a regular basis. One rep gave my son incorrect information which led to expenses of over $1200 and all we got was an apology for their error. I challenge anyone to try to reach a supervisor or manager when the customer service rep can't answer your questions. You will be told the supervisor is not in yet, on a break, at lunch, or gone for the day. Do not waste your breath trying to leave a message to have a supervisor call you back because that is futile. I was told no less than 6 times that a supervisor would return my call and they never did. The reps you get when you call customer service appear to be high school dropouts who are reading from a script and just continue to talk over you and say the same thing over and over regardless of the fact that it has nothing to do with your inquiry. If you have a specific question, you will get a different answer and instructions each and every time you call. These untrained phone jockies will try to tell you what the law is when they have absolutely no idea what they are talking about. I am an attorney and when I told the rep that they were incorrect about what the law is, they got flustered and said that is what they are told to tell customers. It is a disgrace that this company continues do do such shoddy business and employs uneducated and poorly trained customer service reps who are providing incorrect information and instruction which, if followed, will cost the customer quite a bit of money.

When my son called to schedule his recalibration, he was told that the service center never received his recalibration kit. He was advised that he could continue his plan to drive from his home in Austin to Houston and instructed to call the next day after his car was locked down by Intoxalock and they would reverse the lockout for 3 days if he paid $75. Based upon their instructions, he drove to Houston and once the car was locked down he called for the 3 day extension and he was told the information given to him the day before was wrong. He was now told that his only option was to have his car towed to Austin to have it recalibrate do. Instead of paying the $1400 tow to Austin, I advised them that I wanted the device taken off my car. I was told to send them a copy of the title to prove I was the owner and I could have it removed. I sent the title and then they said that information was wrong and they now said they needed a court order to remove it from my car. I informed them that there was no court order requiring the device so I did not need a court order to get it off. Unfortunately, the service rep didn't know how to handle this situation so she just started telling me it was "the law" but when asked, she didn't know what law or where I could find the law she was referring to.

Bottom line, I had to rent a car for 3 weeks while I tried to get a court order to remove a device they had never ordered to be installed and then had to pay for the removal of the device and the towing bill to get the car there. You may get an occasional apology from a customer service rep for the prior rep's incorrect instructions but you will never get a supervisor to take 5 minutes away from their break or lunch to resolve the problem before the customer is out of pocket over$1200 in unnecessary expenses. Do not use this totally incompetent company. There are many options out there and you need to use a company that values its customers and not one that isolates itself behind totally incompetent phone jockies.

The customer service representative verbally abused me and refused to help. He told me I had poor reading comprehension and should blame myself for not reordering my calibration in time, since I had not due to an expired lease. My lease was supposed to be 12 months but expired after 11. When I caught the mistake I called ASAP but it was Saturday and calibration due Monday. I requested a one day extention to remain compliant with my probation terms but they refused citing I could not read and told me it was my mistake and refused to help, saying they would not let me talk over them while I attempted to explain the leasing error. The representative took 40 minutes to answer and then berated me until I cried. They are expensive, the device a huge drain on my battery, replaced my battery twice in a year and it still frequently dies causing issues with lockouts that are 75 a pop. They have hidden fees, ruined my ignition "run wire" they blamed my car for it, the machine has issues starting, they've double billed me and holds times can be over an hour, they are disrespectful and have also hung on me before when I was attempting to resolve an issue, and I wasn't even being obnoxious, just concerned. Go with anyone else, this company has no ethics and only cares about money.

After installing their unit everything worked as expected except for alot of rolling retests

then they required me to exchange the unit for another as soon as the weather got cold i started car no problem and waited for my daughter to go to work and drank a coffee got a block down the road and the retest failed three times causing a lockout so i turned around and went home

i got on the phone and waited over twenty min. and was told the coffee may have caused it they charged me $81 to reset via satallite

four days later exact same thing only i ate and drank nothing not even water didnt even brush my teeth waited over twenty min.again and was told the must be something in the car ,its a work van and doesn't even have a air freshener in it I insisted they sent me a new unit the car has been parked 4 days now

today I got a court apperance for a intoxalock violation REALLY now i have to pay a lawyer again

just for your info this was my first offense,never use intoxalock
