I purchased a used car with this warrenty only two months ago. The car had a total engine failure during a road trip. I had the car towed to a dealer and immediately reached out, at first I felt great they let me know I would be entitled to an emergency hotel room and a rental car and that the repairs were covered under the warrenty they just needed to send out an inspector due to the cost of the repair, they assured me this would be done within 24 hours due to the nature of the situation. We are a week and a half later, the car has been inspected, but is stuck in their "approval que" no rental, I am paying for the hotel out of my own pocket and so far they have done nothign to actually help. My family is literally trapped 2000 miles from home and they just can't be bothered to even meet their own standards of time and reasonable turn around. I purchased the warrenty to know if something like this ever happened I would be taken care of, instead they have left me completely stranded with no help at all.
I bought Luxury care package. 6 year/100000 miles. Too good to be true. I was told that this is the exclusive package and it covers everything except regular maintenance. Guess what? First time I needed repair, none of the parts were from regular maintenance. None of the parts were lin the list of exclusions. These people asked the service center guy if there is rust. Obviously there is going to be some rust on 7 year old car. They refused to pay anything saying it is because of rust. Fraud company.
These people continue to call me with my final warning I have spoken to them and told them do no call and that i will report and i continue to get 1-2 nonsense calls a week at my work! This is annoying and unnecessary and a lie i have spoken tot them! Told them to QUIT! I hope they are fined BIG!
In Feb of this year I purchased a used 2008 BMW 550i. The dealership offered an extended warranty through Interstate National Dealer Services (INDS, Inc.). I opted for the Copper Coverage Plan at $3000 up front price tag since it had fairly good coverage of most parts that fail on BMW's.
Well after feeling all happy and secure that I had this fairly comprehensive coverage for my bimmer, I began to notice this month (5/2/17) that my coolant level was getting low in the overflow tank. After topping off and the same thing occured again two weeks later.
I took it in to a local European repair shop on 5/18/17. It was discovered a small coolant leak was happening at the top of the engine block. Diagnosis: the engine block cap (BMW's name for a valley pan) seal was leaking coolant. Price to fix: $1100.00.
My service contract with INDS, Inc. specifically read : Seal&Gasket Coverage; Provides for repair or replacement of leaking seals&gaskets, if needed, on any covered part.
Since my Copper Coverage plan covered the cylinder block of the engine, I was quite relieved that I had come out of pocket for the $3000 plan.
Well this is where the story starts to get shady.
The repair shop also looked over my service contract and agreed this repair should be covered and made the telephone call to INDS, Inc Claims Dept. DENIED! The repair shop was told since the part and seal (valley pan) was not listed as a part of the engine block in the contract, it wasn't covered. The repair tech tried to explain to the claims department that this was a seal/gasket component of the engine block, but they still denied the claim.
Since then I have spoke to three different representatives of INDS, Inc.(5/19/17, and twice on 5/22/17).
All three times all they say is that the valley pan (engine block cap/seal) is not stated in the contract, so it's not covered, even though if you look at any BMW parts list or talk to BMW directly, they confirm this is a seal/gasket component of the engine block. The fight to continue.
Beware of this company! They do not honor what clearly stated in the service contract they have authored. If they say repair or replace gaskets/seals to a part, they should honor it. Such as in my case, the leaking seal between the engine block and engine cap (valley pan).
They even have a small print section in contract that covers "exclusions" parts/services. Would you think my issue would even be covered in their exclusion of coverage? No! So here you have a company that can't even list stuff they won't honor up front.
Purchased an Extended Warranty from Dealership when I purchased my Toyota Prius.. I was basically talked into it, as the finance guys said, you have a hybrid, this is great because if anything goes wrong, including the battery etc. this covers it...down to the key replacement... As that was the first question which came up, because they only offered me ONE key! He's telling me that the batteries on the hybrids are 500 or better and the hybrids sometimes have a lot go wrong which is very expensive, so good to have this.. I only purchase ONE in my life, and said NEVER again, but here we go.. So, first experience, I of course, lost my only key! I contact them to approve a new key as I had to order one, and they refuse.. So, what is the excuse, because I contacted the dealership to order it, because obviously I needed it, they said they would call and get approval, BUT, because they ordered it an hour before they call for approval, they DENIED paying for it! REALLY!! Next, Water Pump goes, I pay for it because the dealership had waited 4 days for the Warranty Co to respond, meanwhile I am renting a car, and would like my car back, and I decide to pay for it and tell them to just reimburse me.. So, the dealership finally hears back from them 2 weeks after the repair and AGAIN DENIED payment because the repair was done before approval... The WARRANTY says IN BLACK AND WHITE, Water Pump COVERED.. If its covered, PAY FOR IT! The Water Pump has issues AGAIN, and I bring it back,,, they get approval. Its repaired after 4 days. That was in September.. It is now DECEMBER and I get a letter in the mail saying they Refuse to cover the repair, because the repair was done prior to Approval... !! Really!! Ridiculous.. I even called them to make sure it was covered... I even called the DEALERSHIP and spoke to someone where I purchased the vehicle and spoke to them about it... The dealership I brought it to said they got approval, but NOW once again, they are denying payment. I call them today and she says , SORRY, but there was no approval on this. You had the work done before it was approved.. NOT TRUE.. It doesn't matter, if its Covered, its Covered.. Mann up and PAY For IT.... this is nothing more than ripping people off, straight up. SHAME SHAME SHAME...... I called the dealership and demanded full reimbursement on the amount of the Warranty.. Its disgustiing. HiRoad Classic Extra Vehicle Service Warranty... CRAP CRAP CRAP... What a Scam.. People, save your money up for a day you need a repair.. Cheaper and less aggrevating.. Soooo not worth this aggrevation... - Stacey Ann Trabold, Oxford NJ
