If you're doing your research before you've signed a contract with internet local listings congradulations. I wish i had but they were very convincing, sounded very trustworthy to me. But it's a very expensive lesson I will not make again.
But my review: they promise a front page listing or your money back in 45 days; sounds fool proof right. After 30 days and numerous emails and phone calls, which they convinced me that everything was ok " keep sending money", the only thing my $180 bought me was a google plus account (which I could have done in an hour for free). come to find out they wait until the second payment to do anything then they offer an extra 15 days to the "garantee" but by that time they've already got you locked into the 1 year contract and they don't have to offer you anything after that. bottom line if you don't keep paying them they report you to the credit agencies and screw you both financially and through your credit. I must admit great scam. There should be laws against this and these kids should be held accountable!
I got a phone call from a man named Troy on March 24th stating he could get my website on the first page of Google, Yahoo, Bing and some other website. He offered a package which included a FREE 5 page website and that Internet Local Listings can get me started right away. He told me it was $179.99 for the first month and for the rest of the months it would be 129.00 and taken out of my debit card on the 24th of each month. I looked at their website and it was a real website and seemed kosher. I signed some sort of contract but I was not given proper time to read it. They seemed like they were in such a hurry which made me nervous. But, I was in the perfect position to have a 5 page website creatHe said it is a local package that I would choose 5 local cities nearest me as well as 10 keywords and this would be done by a woman named Kim from IT. After giving this man my debit card and back three numbers, I was transferred to her. She seemed in a hurry and wanted me to quickly come up with the five cities - I had to get a map and see which cities would be best. Then she asked what keywords I want for my business. This is something that takes time and she was not giving it. I quickly just thought up some keyword names whether they were good or not.
So, a few days went by and I never received any information for my website. What I wanted on the website and who was doing this. I tried to contact Kim and gave her a voice mail and asked if she would get back to me as soon as possible, I would appreciate it. Then I tried my Acct. Mgr Troy. Same thing, it goes straight to voice mail. This is when I really started to panic. I forwarded Kim a website I had been working on and I told her this should help her and the website team greatly because the 5 page website was what I had pretty much finished. Still no answer.
I stil have no returned -phone calls and that's when I started looking up their information and seeing the The Government needs to be involved in this. I think I may be the lucky one because I am just out the initial $179.99 but my bank said that if the Government is involved, I may even get that back.
I had to close out my debit card number and get a temporary one while my new one comes in the mail. BIG lesson learned here. No matter how authentic their site seems, they hire slick people to scheme you just when you are considering marketing your business, etc.
Please watch out for Internet Local Listings - they are definitely Rip Off Professionals.
This company makes false claims. They will state that your keywords in your area are trending getting thousands of searches, when they are clearly not. You can go on Google Trends and check for yourself.
They also claim guaranteed inclusion in Google's listings, which Google themselves says is not possible nor something they offer.
They also use robo-calling. This company is hands down a scam operation. They claim 40,000 clients, but refuse to disclose even one of their clients for "privacy reasons".
I got a robocall from this company from 878-201-0298 asking me if I wanted my business to get GUARANTEED first page placement (red flag #1) and UNLIMITED clicks (red flag #2). When I pressed 1 to be transferred the girl was hesitant to tell me the website for her company and immediately started trying to ask me questions.
I've been in marketing for a long time and these kind of deceptive promises are meant to lure unsuspecting business owners into paying money to chase a pipe dream. There are no guarantees in SEO and there is no such thing as unlimited clicks unless you're being sold on one or two specific search terms that don't get more than a handful of searches every month. So the business owner thinks they're getting "unlimited" clicks but that means nothing because that keyword rarely gets searched. So they pay $100 or $200 a month, the company spends $15-20 on clicks for that and pockets the rest.
THIS IS A COMPLETE AND TOTAL SCAM. READ THE REVIEWS ON THIS TERRIBLE COMPANY.
