Always google any time you deal with a new website even the big familiar ones since they can be mirrored to look like a legitimate well known company. Call the numbers above when you can, to annoy and distract and slow them down, for what they are doing to honest people.
I have several web sites and recently I have been receiving iDNS Expiration Notices in the mail. Luckily I know my hoster and know they do not send out junk like this. After reading the document which looks exactly like a bill, I see that it is all about switching to their service for CRAZY COSTS! I see no reason to pay 45.00 for a service I now get for less than 15.00. I almost payed this stupid thing, because like I said, it looks like a bill.
Do not be fooled. These are scammers of the worst order. They have a Jersey City address but the .AS on their website means American Somoa. The only reason I can see for them to be there is so they can dodge Taxes and Laws.
IDNS inc I just got off the phone to one of the rudest men I have encountered in my 41 years of life. I received a letter in the mail regarding my domain and the fact I needed to renew. Not being a pro at this cyber/internet tech stuff. I paid however my site went down anyway. It's been almost a week since this happened and my previous host are unable to help. The man was extremely condescending and aggressive implying I was stupid. He said I would have to wait and he refused to refund me. He reluctantly took down my new email because of course the existing one isnt working so I wouldn't receive any updates.
Overall, the fee was more than double my previous host. The letter they send looks official and doesn't illustrate they are a competitor and eludes to being the national organisation that controls all the domains. To someone new to this it definitely worked. They received my funds but I will be doing anything so they have no part in controlling my domain now or in the future. I received a letter from this company to renew web hosting. We paid the amount required online. I then recently after was experiencing problems with our email so I called for support, which the letter said they provide. Upon calling the company I reached a very rude man on the phone for customer service. He berated me, called me stupid, an idiot, for not knowing what I was talking about. He also referred to my husband and stupid for not knowing what he was doing. He said his letter that was sent to me was in no way misleading, or unclear. Again that I was stupid and he would explain it to me if I needed him to in kindergarten terms. I tried to respond to him I was at a loss for words, which doesn't happen very often for me, rest assured. I said to him, wow I cannot believe, and he cut me off and said that you're that stupid? This company is totally dishonest. I am still utterly shocked at the way I was treated. We run a business as well but if I treated customers as abominably as he treated me, I wouldn't be in business long. Please don't give your money to this poor excuse of a company and human. I hope this saves someone from what I was subjected to.
