International Fellowship of Christians and Jews Reviews
Feb 12, 2022
One day while I was still living in Virginia I got a calendar in the mail from the 'International Fellowship of Christian and Jews http://www.ifcj.org. The calendar only cost $25 dollars so I thought that it was for a good cause. I figured it was about time that Christians and Jews got together around the Jesus Christ issue and was impressed about this organization's claims that they thought it was also about time.
Surprisingly I got my calendar in the mail just a few days after I paid for it. It was a real nice calendar with scenes from Jerusalem, Nazareth etc so I had no complaints. Unfortunately, soon after I received this calendar I began getting swamped by junk mail from this company urging me to donate to their causes. I would get 2-3 junk mails a week sometimes more from this company urging me to Donate. It was unbelievable ! The donations required you to give them your Bank account, or credit-card number so that they could debit it every month!
Their main cause was for the suffering "survivors of the Holocaust" Jews still living in Russia that are being persecuted. There is even a commercial on TV that shows some of these survivors living on $2 a day ! Now I'm pretty sympathetic when it comes to people suffering, but what does this have to do with Jewish and Christian fellowship, I asked myself ?
In any case, I kept getting so much junk mail from this organization (without ever making a donation) that I finally had to call them up and ask them to take me off their mailing list. The person I spoke to told me it would take about 3 months for them to stop sending me mail ?
I eagerly and patiently waited for 3 months, but when that time arrived, I still kept receiving junk mail from them, but not as often. Maybe once or twice a week instead of 3-4 times. I angrily called them back and told them if they did not stop sending me junk mail I would have to sue their organization ! With that said they told me to be patient and that the mail would finally stop after another 30 days.
This is the behavior of a so-called charitable organization ? They could have used all that money they spent on mailing campaigns to help those poor Jews in Russia. No one says how many of those people still live in Russia and what are they still doing there ?
I have watched ads on tv from the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews. They show pictures of old obviously poor Jews in the Soviet Union who need aid. They ask for a donation. I donated. Subsequently, I received a request for another donation from them in the mail. They included a picture of a young healty Jewish family who they were able to get to Israel. I was outraged because I was led to believe all donations were sent to help impoverished Jews in other countries, specifically the Soviet Union. The picture of the healthy Jewish family who were able to immigrate to Israel pales in comparison to the need of the elderly they showed on tv.
This is the only site I could find where I could voice my concerns. Thank you for providing it.
After watching a sympathetic video of Jews suffering in Israel, I submitted a donation with my credit card. It was only intended to be a one time donation, and after 3 months I discovered IFCJ was using my credit card charging the same amount.
I never agreed for this to be a monthly donation. I simply can't afford it. I have hardships myself.
