I slipped on ice on my deck at home and landed on my chest. This was on Saturday and the next Tuesday I was in pain so I went to an IHC Insta-care located at 2700 West 9000 South in West Jordan. I recieved xrays of my chest and the doctor told me that my ribs were not broken and that they were just bruised.
About two weeks later we were having lunch on a Saturday and I was suddenly in extreme pain where I had landed on my chest. My wife was very worried and she talked me into going to the IHC emergency room in Murray. When we were checking in I asked the person at the desk if they were in my network and he said yes, of course you are. All I needed was another dianosis since the pain had not gone away. They did a CT scan and told me that I had broken three ribs. The doctor said that there is nothing that they can do except let them heal on their own.
About three weeks later I get a bill in the mail that said that I owe $5300.00 out of a $9800.00 bill.This large of an amount for a CT scan and diagnosis? I was sure that this was a mistake and my health insurance company told me that I am only responsible for $1300.00 and that IHC was over billing me for the difference between what Blue Cross paid them and what was left. I filed a dispute with IHC and they do not care and will not work with me. I feel like I was scammed for profit and their financial services people are very rude and unprofessional.
