Holiday Inn refuses to refund payment of prepaid hotel room in Amsterdam for arrival in May. This was a prepaid, non refundable reservation, however, other reputable hotel chains are refunding these type reservations because of the Pandemic.
Even a certified letter to the IHG CEO, Mr. Keith Barr resulted in NO RESPONSE WHATSOEVER! I explained; Pandemic, cruise cancelled, flights cancelled. DO NOT, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE BOOK A ROOM AT AN IHG PROPERTY DURING THIS PANDEMIC! THEY SIMPLY DO NOT SUPPORT THEIR GUESTS.
My family stayed at Holiday Inn SW Celebration from Aug 6th through Aug 8th. We were told about a $25 refunable deposit. We charged $23.67 to the room to get a pizza and thought all was well. It wasn't not only was the deposit permanently charged to my credit card, when I called the corporate IHG office and spoke to according to her the most senior person at IHG Mary, I was told my transaction would be refunded and then they charged me another $25 instead of a refund. Had to go to my CC company to try to get money back when I tracked down the corporate office to make a complaint to the CEO Richard Solomons (Not easy to find the number). A very rude operator told me I couldn't speak to him or any other corporate level executive about my horrid experience with Mary and the hotel. I called back no less than 11 times pushing buttons and finally got a live voice who told me to dispute the charge effectively confirming they were not going to help me. I have done extensive research and I am not the only one who has had this issue with Holiday Inn in general. I tried to get them to resolve and they could care less about the consumers who spend their money staying in the Hotel. The sad part is my kids love Holiday Inn but I told my two daughters never again. Stay away, tell your friends Holiday INN is all about bilking their customers.
