Mathew May said he had a learning company and hired about 12 of us to work on his various projects through a freelancer website. He hired people for help with administrative support, voice actors, eFront Design and Development and more. He set his freelancers up with their own emails, was very friendly and attentive, gave us the work to do, and then when he received the work he disappeared completely.
He apparently keeps doing this over and over. I did a background check on him since I knew where he lived, and he apparently has a pattern of not paying people and has judgements against him. He seems to have been in and out of the court system for years.
On April 11, 2021 I was hired by Matthew May via UPWork.com - a freelancing website - for VA support that included transcription of his hand written notes for a large project that would last - according to the job post for over 6 months - I was 1 of 12 freelancers hired for this large project.

I'm looking for someone 30-40 hours per week that can assist with transcribing hand written notes and help create PowerPoint presentations for eLearning content. Some general admin duties (calendar management, travel arrangement, etc.) might also be involved. This is an ongoing, remote position. If you are interested, please reply with your hourly rate as well as availability. I am in EDT time zone, but I'm not especially particular about the times or timezone that you work so long as work is completed in a timely manner. I'm looking forward to discussing this with you further!
I received my own email for his company, and was invited to a Click-Up board and assigned tasks. I worked for almost two weeks, until his account on UpWork was suspended, conveniently, right on payday.
After being super responsive prior, Matthew became unresponsive - ignoring all forms of communication, emails and texts from not just me, but other freelancers.
When it came time for payday, because Matthew had conveniently had a suspended account, he did not pay. He removed all freelancers from all the boards he previously had us assigned to, and ran away with thousands (well over $6,000 worth) of FREE work.
He has a history of scamming people, and court records to prove it. The people in his company are probably just as shady to knowingly work with such a crappy individual. Do NOT work with Matthew May or Intellitek Systems. They are con artists and thieves! BEWARE!!
