Relative in jail in Kansas so I tried to purchase InmateAid for three numbers. They say they give you local numbers, something they stress, but I got Louisiana numbers, which did not work. Multiple weeks of attempting to contact them all failed, by phone, (never answered), through my account and by email. They do NOT offer a way to cancel account, so had to cancel credit card to get free of them. I contacted jail and was finally told they don't even accept InmateAid, however the InmateAid site does in fact specifically list this facility. All bad enough, but the zero customer service tops it all. A scam.
Still waiting for my loved one to recieve any of the 4 different magazine issues i ordered 4 months ago. No notification or anything on whay the hold up is???
I went online through the jail site to buy phone minutes . I did not receive any nor was my friend given minutes bought by me , I was never called. I then was billed again the following month with out my authorization. I called and left a voicemail explaining i didn't receive the service I paid for and was being billed again without my authorization. Never received a call back. Called at least 20 times, no ans , " voicemail was full" , just can't get through. I email them two times demanding a call back and refund . No response. I had to call my bank and have them cancel my card and have one re issued . This is complete thievery. I'm sick knowing that if they are ripping me off , they are def doing it to others esp the elderly. Pure scum !
This so called company advertises itself as a secure and easy way contact & purchase goods for your incarcerated loved ones, but in reality they are just a well produced scam website which does not respond to the customers that spend thier hard earned $$! I bought a magazine subscription for a loved one in a Virginia regional jail (not prison) & they have not responded to emails or calls. Nor do they have an actual customer service department- only a messaging system with the same guy on all the extensions. After not getting a response from the company; I did a little research ( which should have been done prior to purchase) & this "company" is located in a mobile home park in Florida. I'm putting a stop payment request in so all will be fine but they are a rip off!!
Inmate aid is an online communication service between inmates and their friends or loved ones. They charge by the page for any letter, charge extra for photos and postcards, and actually allow a person to add money to the inmates books via western union. I used their services Feb 1, 2017 and wrote a letter to an inmate and they never informed me the letter was received by the inmate or proof the letter was sent to him directly not even a confirmation number. A couple weeks went by and still nothing so I email them twice regarding my letter and whether the inmate received it and if they couldn't provide proof I needed my money back. A week after that still no answer so I called the number provided on the website and it gives u options press 1 for sales, 2 for customer service, and 3 for billing. I tried all three of these extentions but each extension just akesbyou to the same mailbox that just says I have reached inmate aid the same male voice each time to leave a message. Still no call back.
