I went online and purchased a unlimited for 7 days promo package. I put $10 on my daughters account and then selected the promo deal, was also charged $8.95 just to buy said package. My daughter was able to use it for the first day (approximately 8 hours) . Then it quit working and started charging her messages.
I emailed the help center on several occasions, told them the account name and sent them the reciept and also the communication report showing i paid for and used this promo for approximatley 8 hours. I told them I would like a full reufnd of the money I spent or for them to at least credit my daughters account.
They are now not responding to emails and the only phone number is an automated line with no chance of speaking to anyone. It may only be $20, but when they charge you $8.95 for EVERY transaction, I think its ridiculous to not be able to use what you paid for.
I put funds on a family member's account, they were released from custody on June 19th, and I asked for a refund for $35.50. As of today I have still not received the refund, but I was told the "processing time for a refund is 60 - 90 days". I replied that was unacceptable, because nowhere on their website (you cannot call them) does it state that it will take that long for a refund. I have also filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.
Inmate Canteen will no longer respond to my emails asking for a status update on my refund.
