They prey on up and coming musicians and claim they can get you signed to record labels! I was contacted by one of their interns from Industry Level Music Group to sgin-up for their artist development program where they will help me record 3 songs, shoot a music video, do a photo shoot, get you 100K views on You Tube, and promote me to major record labels for $10K. I was skeptical, but I did some research and they looked pretty legit and had connections to these major record labels. I got suckered in because of these connections but they use it as bait and never follow through when they get all your money! They don't even return your phone calls and emails!
How the scam works, they will have someone contact you to have a phone appointment with the CEO Sean Davidson and he'll tell you all the artist he promoted and celebrities he's worked with. Then he'll ask if you want to take your music to the next level and if so he can help you get there. To get there, you'll have to go through their "Artist Development Program" for $10K. You'll have to wire them $5K first and they'll send you beats to write and record to. Sean reviews them and will have you change them based on his reccomendations. The goal is to record 3 songs and afterwards go to Los Angeles to re-record them in a professional studio, record a music video, and do a photo shoot and once you arrive you have to give them the other $5K.
The contract stated they will provide me with clothes for the video and photo shoot, but they didn't provide me with s**t. The recording studio wasn't a bid name studio, but it got the job done. The music video was shot in the streets and photo shoot was done in photographers living room, ghetto af.
After I was done and left LA I followed up on the progress of the music video and photos. They took forever to edit the mv and always gave me a bunch of excuses. After I got the music video and asked for the 100K You Tube views they said they were working on it, but ultimately never came through and never heard from them again.
For the work I've done with Industry Level Music Group I could of hired someone myself for way cheaper and better quality. I thought these guys were for real, so I made the investment, but these guys are just a bunch of shady a*s mf in the entertainment industry trying to make a quick buck from up and coming musicians with dreams of making it big.
