I hired this company because I'm a 65 yr old disabled woman and had things I could not lift. They are pleasant enough, but not very effective. Their advertising says experienced movers and I did not get that. I got one man and a teenager who is in training. My leather chair was torn and a table shelf broken as well as one of my collectible bottles. They were in no hurry as they loaded the truck. They pulled things out and set them on the ground to move again. I had two places to stop and asked them to put all the things for the house in first, then put the things for storage last, but that was not done. It took them six hours to load the truck when it should've taken no more than 3 or 4 since all the boxes were already packed, taped and labeled. I moved from one storage to another. There were a few oddball pieces but mostly boxes. We needed to leave by 5:00 to make the closing deadline at the new storage but didn't leave on time.
When we arrived they began unloading things and setting them aside again because they were supposed to go to the house. I had reminded them 3 times those things were to be loaded first. We had 20 minutes left to get out before the gates locked so I asked them to just put everything in the storage but that did not happen either. I reminded them at 12 minutes, 8 minutes and 5 minutes. Joshua responded "if they lock the gate they can unlock it for us." I was very stressed because it's an automatic gate and I kept telling him that. The end result is that we were locked in the storage for an hour and 15 minutes because it was closed. They would not answer the phone or the door and I kept saying we need to just leave. Joshua had been on the phone with his friends and said they wanted to come and break the gate down. This is my new storage where I have a contract and I did not want this to happen. Also my van was still completely loaded. As I was trying to climb the gate to get out after we park the truck and my van, a man came to the window and graciously let us get out. We came to my house to finish unloading and Joshua presented me with the bill. He charged me for only 10 hours which was gracious. My problem was that they didn't listen to my instructions regarding loading so it took far longer than it should have. In addition they left me with my van completely loaded to deal with myself and I had to make additional trips to my old storage to complete the job myself. I wrote to him regarding my concerns over the breakage and extra time and frustration and he asked what he could do. I stated my concerns and said he should refund 2 hours because of the continual loading and unloading that could have been avoided. 5 days later he has yet to respond. I had a big job and sent pictures to him and feel he should have had an experienced mover along with the boy so the job would have been done more effectively. I agree with training but not for this job.
