I was asked to switch from bg&e to idt under the impression i would save money on my energy bill but i noticed every month my bill was getting higher & higher to the point of it was pay gas & electric or put food in my house.
They came to my house and ask me if I got my safe link phone in the mail and I said no. They told me I'm untitled to a 300 dollar rebate because I'm disable and low income family. They said they can sign me up right now all they need to see is a copy of my page bill and my I'D. I told them I didn't want to switch utility companies. They said they are with safe link and not a utility company. They lied to me. I never received my rebate. I went on line to check my page bill wondering why it's so high and seen IST Energy charges on my bill. I have called them and they won't cancel the charges. Please help.
In April 2017 an agent from Idt energy services came to my house and talked to my wife about lowering our energy bill. She called me to let me know that she signed up for it. I did some research about that company and read the reviews. Of course, the reviews were not good. So, the next day we called them back to cancel and the agent said it would take 30 days to go back to our regular supplier Baltimore Gas and electric. Well here it is August and we just received a call from BGE telling us that we have a 800 dollar bill. I was shocked because we just paid but they informed me that we still have a third party supplier idt energy. I'm concerned with the reviews i have read that this company is not going to release me from this enrollment which is my right to terminate at any time.
On December 10, 2016 a representative from this company by the name of Samuel Ngadi who origianally was with Frontier utilities we talked and he stated that Frontier utilities had changed their names to IDT Energies Inc. so we were talking he also stated that they ( frontier ) had said that they sent them here cause of some screw up suposedly. I had this feeling that he was lying but did not listen to my feeling. i had signed the agreement then after he left i made a call to frontier to verify whether or not he was telling the truth. I went on the web and checked and thats when i found out that they ( frontier utilites) in fact did not change their name. i contacted frontier on December 12, 2016 and informed them about this guy and was told that it was a third party company they used and i also asked them for the name of the 3rd party company name that they were using and they would not tell me. that same day Idt energies contacted me by telephone and thanked me for joining them at that time i informed them that i wanted to cancel that order because of the deceptive practices that they had done they did not give me any other information. on 12-19-16 i recieved a letter informing me that i have been switched to Idt energies inc. against what i had already informed them not to. today 12-20-16 Idt called again and i told them to cancel and that i dont want to be with them and hung up on them. i then got a phone call from frontier utilities that i was no longer part of frontier utilites i informed them that i wanted to stay with them they informed me to contact ppl electric to nform them of my intensions and i got the run around with them. so i called Idt energies and informed them of my issues with them. they are going to put a cancelation in. and that i was going to file a complaint. with the federal government and the bbb. their preying on the poor and need to be shut down.
IDT ENERGY was billing my services at least 2 times more than my utility company would do. Do not understand how 2 senior citizens can use 223.00 in electricity for one month. My daughter looked at my bill and said they did the same thing to her.
Called the following day and cancelled service.
