I called Identity IQ to ask about and confirm the existence of their free trial. I was able to confirm that the first month was a 30 day free trial, and decided to give it a try. I signed up with Identity IQ to get my credit report and to see if their services could benefit me. I checked my credit report once I signed up, and although the credit scored did not accurately reflect my current scores, I though maybe they were just a couple days behind. So, I chose not to cancel right that moment. I also wanted to see how the service worked regarding monitoring. So, I printed out the detailed report.

About a week later, I checked back to see if anything had changed. No alterations of any kind to my report could be found. I printed out that detailed report, as well. Another week went by and another report with no changes. Finally, after just over three weeks, I logged in to see my profile. [continued below]....

It appears that others have mentioned this, but I too experienced that their website states the following:

Offer Details

By activating your 7-day free trial account, you will be able to access your IdentityIQ membership benefits online in seconds. If you do not cancel your membership within 7 days, you will be billed $19.99 and then $19.99 for each month that you continue your membership. If you are not satisfied, you can cancel at any time to discontinue your membership and we will no longer bill you monthly. By clicking on the “Activate” button below, you agree to the offer details, to the Terms and Conditions, acknowledge receipt of our Privacy Policy and agree to its terms, and confirm your authorization for IdentityIQ to obtain your credit profile from any consumer reporting agency for your own use, to confirm your identity to avoid fraudulent transactions in your name, and to monitor your credit for changes.

what is NOT listed is that it PRE-AUTHORIZES $19.99. Nowhere is that listed. While it is not a large amount at all, it is very misleading not to include this information. Upon speaking with a representative and a supervisor, both were non-chalant regarding this oversight and continued to present it as though I was not comprehending. I even asked the supervisor to point this out, she attempted to, only for me to read verbatim what it says and that there is no mention of the pre-authorization. She then continues to say "its not there? oh, well, I'll let IT know"
