Beware of people representing major company names. I was at a seminar and was approached be someone saying he was from DirecTV. He was talking to a few people and I was one of them. He said he installed the service and said they had a good package. I asked how much was the service. He responded and so I asked how much was the service. He said $60. I told him we had Time Warner. I said I didn't know and that I would ask my husband if he wanted to switch services. He asked for my phone number so he could call me. Red flag******. I gave him my name and number. He then asked where I lived. Big mistake. I didn't know someone could run you credit with out your social security number. He called the next day to get the response from my husband. I told him no we didn't want to switch. End of conversation. I had a hit on my credit. I got an alert from my credit monitoring co. that I had a Hard Inquiry from Equifax. I called the man who asked for my name and number and asked if he ran a report and he told me he couldn't run my report without and SS#. I tried contacting him boss all lies. I tried reaching them for a week and have spoken on to reps, but no one higher, was given a supposidly supervisor has never returned my call. She's always on a call, in a meeting or not in. I just want them to remove the inquiry the put on my report.
