In February, 2016 I purchased a service agreement through eBay with ICS Tech Parts for 59.99 to repair a badly damaged screen on my Amazon FIRE phone. After examining the phone I was billed an additional 139.00 through PayPal for parts and repair.
The phone was damaged when my teenage daughter and I were hit head-on by a drunk driver on Christmas Eve. leaving us both badly injured and hospitalized for an extended period of time which is why I was willing to pay 200.00 to have the phone repaired; I didn't have the time or energy to load all my data on a new phone.
iCS Tech Parts assured me that the phone could be repaired, namely a new screen. After my payment I was told that it would be a week before the required parts would arrive. After another week I was told that the wrong parts were sent and that the repair would take an additional week.
After that week I was told that there would be an additional delay as the business was short staff. Eventually I was told that the phone was repaired and would be shipped asap via USPS Priority Mail. Two days later the phone arrived. It was unrepaired with the exact same badly broken screen that was even partially pried loose (as if an attempt was made to repair it). Subsequent efforts to contact the business through eBay, their online email address, and phone number were ignored.
It's hard to believe that someone could be so desperate for business and heartless to string me along and rip us off like this.
