Late June 2015 I ordered knives from this compnay.
My ordered was confirmed and I received an invoice. My credit card was immediately debited.
After 1 month, as I still had received nothing, I inquired by e-mail.
I received an answer the next day, explaining that they had encountered production problems and that my order was nearly ready to be shipped. They offered a refund, in case I wanted.
I wanted to be a good guy, as production problems may occur and accepted to wait some more days, as shipment was promised very soon.
Still, nothing happened.
After some more waiting weeks, I enquired again.
No answer at all.
Since then, no news of any kind.
I required a refund, canceled the order via their Internet site form, etc.
Nothing.
Conclusion: I am afraid I was conned out of my money.
I ordered products worth over 100 US dollars on 8 Dec. 2013 and promptly received an email confirmation. I emailed a bit later inquiring as to my order but didn't receive a timely reply. Then, months later, email was received saying they had overwhelming response and were trying to keep up with the demand and will send updated products as available. They seemed legitimate so I gave them the benefit of the doubt and I responded that I accepted the delay and would wait for the products.
Over the next months, I received email ads from them and six more emails saying they were working on the production delay. Then, no more replies to my inquiries and no return of the money they charged to my credit card. The whole time they just strung me along and I received no satisfaction on my purchase. They know they did not deliver anything as promised and they took my money. Three years later they were still sending me ads. I guess they have me pegged as an easy mark.
Sad that a company with such cool products don't want to deliver order and purchased items to their consumers. Order for almost a year ago, and after some months they wrote that they had gone through a reorganizing on the company and would begin to ship soon. Now I think I just contact MasterCard to reclaim my money.. Sad people!
The phenomenon is generalized, everyone that has placed orders from ian sinclair in the last 2 years has been ripped off their money. I am one of the victims and unfortunately It all could have been avoided if I had done a little research beforehand.
Let it be clear:
DON'T BUY THEIR PRODUCTS FROM THE WEBSITE, THE MONEY WILL BE DEBITED IMMEDIATELY AND YOU WILL NEVER SEE THE PRODUCT. IAN SINCLAIR IS A SCAM.
Instead If you really need their products I suggest checking ebay and other markets, where you'll find whatever it is you were buying at much lower prices.
Two days later my credit card was billed and $152.36 usd removed from my bank account.
... and for the last 9 months they have been leading me on!
I have sent them half a dozen email checking on my unreceived order status... to which they reply with apologizes due to a backlog of order... and the offer to refund my order if I so wished.
I pressed on in hopes they would eventually fill my order.
However, about on month ago I ran across a post online that shared similar stories of other individules dealing with this same complaint. http://thesilicongraybeard.blogspot.com/2014/08/anybody-else-ripped-off-by-iain.html
I then decided to email them again and take them up on their refund offer. I have heard NOTHING from them since. I'll keep emailing them... my I really have no expectations that I'll ever hear a thing.
Besides the email address I already provided, they did reply twice via this one as well: [email protected]
