My husband was in critical care for respiratory issues and under transport to University of Iowa when the ambulance was t-boned by a truck trying to hurry across before the ambulance. He suffered severe trauma to his face, head, neck and back from the gurney being thrown out of the tracks during impact. We could not handle dealing with all his injuries and the insurance company by ourselves so we hired Hupy and Abraham in December 2014 to negotiate on our behalf. This was the worst decision I could have made on behalf of my husband.

Over the past nine months we have been significantly misled and the case has been drug out far beyond what it was needed to be. Each month I had to call the assistant and ask how things were proceeding and each time we got a new excuse on why a demand letter had not yet been sent. When a demand letter was finally sent in late September an actual attorney, Justin Randall, was finally assigned to the case. During our first conversation with Mr Randall he repeatedly chuckled at my questions and down played the extreme situation we are currently in due the accident by saying we were just anxious to spend some money.

When we concluded the call I was told I would be receiving a call back regarding the status of our demand letter. After hanging up I say with my husband and cried because it felt demeaned and belittled. After a week of no return call I reluctantly called back to Mr Randall and was immediately ridiculed for calling. When I stated what he had told me he instantly began belittling me again and said I was highly confused. Needless to say that did not go well so I gave the phone to my terminally ill husband to handle the call. Me Randall then told my husband that he should settle his lawsuit for the first (insulting) offer of $2,249.65 and then began telling my husband that was all the past year of excruciating pain and anguish was worth and they were incorrect in telling us we had an easy $100,000 case.

When my husband told him no way he was settling we were told the firm would no longer be representing us because the cost to continue was more than we were going to recoup. We also found out that the aids were incorrectly telling us procedures and trying to receive funds from the ambulances insurance that we were not due. We are currently needing to move because of my husbands injuries and have been left with an entirely messed up case and a years worth of lies. Hupy and Abraham may be good guys but the techniques and employees in their firms are highly questionable and in my opinion should not be trusted.
