I also have phone service with them which clearly says no committment and they are wanting $120 to cancel it.

They since I , had it on my debit card from my bank, I woke up to my daily check of my account found from hughes internt a $219.00 charge? so called automatically my uSBank fraud Dept. And asked mr my tracking # I gave it to themthey to me that it was just in the postin phase and that it more than likely would fall off, but of course it did not? Signed up with HughesNet a little over two months ago. Service has been terrible. Have called customer service several times. Some customer service reps try to convince me nothing is wrong, while others agree there is a problem and say the issue will be "escalated."
Nothing has been done and most of the time I have no service at all. I have never gotten the promised download speeds. Speed tests show download speeds as low as 0.2 kbps to 0.5 kbps. Data disappears even when no one has been home using the system and devices turned off.
I would advise anyone thinking about HughesNet for service to look elsewhere.

While talking to the Agent she asked me questions about what what I use the intenet for and I explained that mostly fantasy sports, Facebook and General Information..No gamming. I was told that there 20GB Plan should be ok...I also gave them information on the devices we use at home. 2 Laptops and a Kendle. I was never explained how the Data got used, After several months of trying to get them to explain how data worked, I was very unhappy..

The company doenst listen and said they would give me moeny off my bill and never did. Also after less then a month of service speend was very slow. Called the company and ended up canceling the services, purchased the highest speed and i only was able to watch internet TV for 2 days of streaming 4 hours of TV..My son was not able to play the gaming with this service. They sales person said the speed would support my household and they service was good, not true at all. Hughesnet offers satelite intnernet and claims to offer very high speed connections. And if you run speedtest.net, the speeds are fast 25 Down and 2-5 Up BUT the PING is like 600.
Their internet is very spuratic and unreliable. In fact, it is especially unreliable if you are using a phone or tablet.
Customer service is hosted in India or another country. They make an effort to be helpful but it is very time consumming.
And finally, they only offer 20 Gigs/month/dish. We have two dishes and do not have enough data to use Netflix. They offer large amounts of Data in the middle of the night while everyone's asleep.
A business like HughesNet. is a disgrace to all wifi providers. HughesNet. lies, false advertises, persuade, and tries to pressure you to keep or install their service that they know doesnt work . I was tricked into Hughesnet. by a representative that made me believe I would be able to game online with only a small second lag at times, and that the internet would be satisfactory. After the technicians hooked up the equipment I attempted to play a game and it just lagged the entire time . $460 for a wifi provider that doesnt meet their promises. Nor was I ever imformed about their 24 month contract that they attempted to lure me into.I wouldnt stay with HughesNet. longer than a day if i could. The first day that I got HughesNet. is the same day I deactivated my account after seeing the true perfomance and colors of Americas supposably #1 satellite internet . Ive read so many reviews of people that have been ripped off for years by HughesNet. yet the company is still thriving and fully functioning as if the people that are getting screwed dont even exist . Thousands of negative reviews clearly point to the fact that HughesNet. is a crooked company that survives off of lies and deceit. I signed up for the Hughes.net service for 2
years. At the end of that 2years, I tried to
cancel. I was told over 3 times that I could
cancel in May 2017. When I called in May, I
was told I could not cancel until August
2017 but they'd be happy to drop my bill
down some.
I called in August and it took me over an
hour for them to accept my cancellation. I
had to argue over and over and FINALLY
got them to process the cancellation. I was
told that I would be receiving a return kit
to return 3 pieces of equipment.
On Sept 15 I had yet to receive the pckge.
I chatted online with a rep who stated the
cancellation has just been processed on
9/13 and the pckge would be sent shortly.
On Oct 15th I called in - explaining I had
yet to rec the pckge. The rep at that time, Gloria
stated it had not yet been mailed, but I didn't
have anything to worry about.
Today, 11/13 they
have taken $324 out of my account,
unauthorized, for equipment that I have
not returned because I have not been given
the opportunity to return it.
Today - 11/13 - I have talked to Oriana, Aj and
finally after asking over 11 times, a
supervisor Jenny who finally gave me
tracking # that shows they did in fact ship it on 09/13
amd provided me a tracking number.
Iit was sent and delivered to the wrong address not even in the
city I live in.
As I stated, the previous reps didn't tell me this, rather
told me the package had NOT been
shipped. Everytime I communicate with
the company - I get a different version of
what has happened.
All of the reps I have talked to today
Refuse to refund my $ which is causing
overdrafts and my mortgage pymt to not
clear. States they can send another return
kit and refund my money in 14 business
days.
I am a single mother of 3, now
overdrawn, cant pay my mortgage, feed my
kids and will have hundreds of dollars in
NSF fees over a mistake that is not my own,
when I have diligently tried and tried to
follow up.
Supervisor Jennifer YELLED at me and
basically told me that it was my fault and
that I was lying. Over talked me, called me
a liar, when I have the print out from UPS
stating it was delivered to the wrong
address, not even in my city.
Refuses to over night another package, Although
Oraina stated to me this morning she could
overnight another return packge to me,
Jennifer the supervisor says they can not.
Jennifer tried to tell me my address has
changed, but I have lived in the same
location over three years and the length of
this horrible experience. Once again, calling
me a liar.
Considering the error is on their part, and
that I get a different story every time I call,
I do not have much faith this will happen.
This is a scam, even Jenny the supervisor
said to me that she answers these kinds of
