In 2014 I took my 2009 Traverse to dealership. The air wasnt working properly. They replaced the Condenser.
May 2014 I took vehicle back to dealership. At this time it was under an extended warranty. Air Conditioning was hissing through vents & blowing warm air. Mechanic said that he let it run for 2 hrs & didn't see any leaks, he filled it up with Freon.
It was taken back a few times in May for recalls. I didn't use air for the months of (Sept.-April)
May 2015 Brought vehicle back to Dealership for the same issues. Blowing warm air & hissing sound in vents. Again the Mechanic said he didn't see anything wrong. Filled with Freon again & sent me on my way again.
Aug 2015 Brought back to Dealership Again! Blowing warm air & hissing through the vents. This time they finally found the problem. I was told this time by the Head of the Service Department (Dan) that the actuator was out. Dan recommended instead of spending $1700 to get it fixed to just put in Freon every month or 2 since my traverse was a little older & has a lot of miles on it. They then filled with Freon again & sent me on my way.
I left the dealership and ran air conditioning for about 5 mins. I turned off the air & rolled down the windows to preserve the freon (again recommended by Dan) I drove home & turned the car off. The Next morning (Saturday) I get into the vehicle try to turn on the air conditioning on & it blinked 3 times & went off. I left it off for a while tried again & it did the same thing (blinked 3 times & went off).
Monday I took the vehicle back to the dealership. I tried to explain to him what was going on now. He was very rude. He talked down to me like I was a child. Maybe because I am a women, I don't understand up to this point he was really nice & today his attitude had totally changed. He tells me to leave the vehicle again.
Monday afternoon Dan called & left a message on my home phone. I called him back. He told me that he doesn't know whats wrong with the vehicle now. Maybe something they did while doing an evac check or filling with freon broke something lose or did something to my compressor. He said that he didn't know but they are not liable.
I have never had any problems with the ac coming on, I have never had a problem with the ac button flashing, I have not had any issues with my compressor coming on. On Friday Dan told me that the leak was very small. I agreed it must be it seemed like it was holding freon for 3-4 months. On Monday Dan said it was completly out of freon (I guess from the 5 mins I used it on Fri?) Which I believe is impossible unless on Friday when they did evac or filled with freon they created a bigger leak or created some other problem.
Its really disappointing that I trusted these people & I feel like they kept covering up the problem! I feel as if the job was going to be a hassle for them, too much work & I believe they new there was a problem back in 2014.
I just got home from picking up my vehicle now my horn is no longer working & they have obviously tampered with the fuses under the hood. There are some missing fuses!I am so concerned that they maliciously did something to my vehicle because of our phone conversation.
Also when picking up my vehicle I was very humiliated. He made me wait for him to come to the desk & also made me wait on my truck to be pulled around. Every employee was in there staring at me. Any other time I have been there my vehicle was always parked on the North Side of service Dept. This time I had to wait for it to be pulled around, which was very odd.
Hubler Chevy is not any better than a backyard mechanic! They are dishonest, rude & unreliable!
