Around the year 2006, Whiteway Realty conducted a search for a reliable air conditioning company. We selected Howard Services Inc. as the air conditioning company. Howard services came every two months to change the filters and check the system to make sure it was running properly. If something needed repair, then Howard would come out to repair it. They would send me a bill which I would pay. This kept up until May of 2014 when the system went down. Howard came out and told me they had fixed the problem. I paid them several thousand dollars. Soon the problem happened again. Howard came out a second time and told me again they had fixed the problem. Again I paid them several thousand dollars. Soon again the problem reappeared third time. Howard came out a third time and said they fixed the problem. For a third time I paid them several thousand dollars. Not long after this, our system had a catastrophic breakdown. This was in August the hottest month of the year. We have 29 offices in our building and the tenants were complaining about the lack of air conditioning. Howard Services spent approximately seven days repairing the system. We were billed $27,562.70. I felt this was outrageous because, in my opinion, they caused the breakdown by not repairing the problem. For the week that the system was down, the tenants could not work in their offices . We had to rebate approximately $4000.00.It is my opinion that we were taken advantage of by Howard because, they charged $105.00 per hour for a person they really only paid $25.00 per hour. Also, they tried to charge about $12000.00 for a compressor they later admitted they had only paid $5500.00 for. Also, they took our old compressor and never paid us for it. I refused to pay the bill. Howard sued. Eventually we went to mediation. The result being that they walked away from the lawsuit and the bill. I can not recommend them to anyone based on the experience that I have had with them.
