My mother was hospitalized at Howard County Hospital with pneumonia. For the entire duration of her stay 11 days she was not once interviewed by a case manager. She was discharged with home health IV antibiotics and sent home with a prescription. No one showed up at her house or contacted her to set up the IV antibiotics.
She wound up being readmitted with double pnuemonia 2 days after her discharge and I flew in form out of state to take her to the ER. Upon arriving at the ER we were greeted by a friendly case manager who took our info and reviewed my mothers chart. The case manager who was on night shift was shocked to see that my mother had been admitted for 11 days with not one single case management review on her chart- not one review or note.
She immediately emailed her boss a woman by the name of Mysah Allen. The case manger stated that she would follow up the next day. My mother was readmitted for another 4 days. We never once heard from or saw the director of case management mysha and we never once got any formal explanation or apology. Out of the 4 days my mother stayed inpatient after readmission only twice was there even a case/care manager available to us out of the 4 days.
This woman mysah seems to not care and clearly does not have any type of communication skills. We were told she was offsite 3 of the 4 business days my mother was hospitalized. Not sure what is going on there but it is clear that the Director of Case Management does not have a grip on what is going on in their own department. Very bad experience.
