This company advertises on craigslist claiming to manage/own different properties. Their website actually has a bible verse as header, which is just repulsive, considering what they are doing). They post different properties almost daily on cl, and direct you to their website for a "virtual tour". If you like what you see online, you can ask to see the property in person, but they won't allow that. They claim the property has a week-to-week tenant in it, and that you can drive around outside the property, but the next and only step is to pay a non-refundable $75 application fee... I heard back in my first email asking if i could set up appt. To see inside the house. Their response was, and i quote, "we have had people move in with just the first months rent and 0 deposit, it would just depend on your application". I have no clue who he was answering, but it had nothing to do with my request to see the place!
I'm an idiot, as i shouldn't have ignored these "red flags", but i've given notice on my townhouse, and really need to find another place. Anyway, i bit the bullet, paid the $75 and filled out application... After 3 days of not hearing anything, i emailed again. I was answered with a phone number for me to call. When i called the number to inquire about my application, he didn't seem to remember my name, and obviously wasn't in a office with paperwork in front of him. Finally, he said, "oh yeah... I was going to call you. Your application was denied." when i asked why, he said that it's run through a third party, and my credit check wasn't good enough. I responded with, "what if i get a co-signer and give you 3 months security deposit. Would that help? He replied with "i'll make a note of it."
When i got home that day, i went online to my credit report, and not only is my score good-excellent, but my credit was not checked by anyone in the past 30 days! so he not only denied me for no credible reason, but he lied to me when he said that they checked my credit...
I finally realized i had been scammed out of my $75 when i found another person who had applied and was turned down for the very same reason, and what do you know? Her credit had not been checked either. So this is the deal. They are just collecting $75 application fees, over and over again. I looked at the video of this property on their website again today, and it's had over 5000 views! even if only 1/3 of those people applied, that is over $120,000 in application fees.!
I'm reporting this to craigslist, not sure what they will do. I looked online for reviews of this company and found several complaints lodged with the bbb and other scam reports. I'm taking the time to report this on yscam.com in the hopes that i can save other folks from giving their hard earned money to these dirtbags!
Report things like this to the florida division of consumer affairs. They put a flooring company out of business that was taking deposits and not doing any work. You can file a complaint online
They told us that the property was open and available we did a little research and they do not own nor represent said properties and they have scam multiple people out of application money and fees that they know and by they i mean drake and joe. know you will get approved because the houses aren't there's to rent
