Tried to book at the Marriot in Detroit. Used Google and thought I was on the Marriot Web site it showed the Marriot Renaissance Detroit. I booked a room with the intent of using a gift card from Marriot and used my discover because there was no way to use the gift card online. I thought I would use it at checkout. I called to inquire the Marriot told me that was not their web site! I was decieved and tried to cancel online and it says no cancellation! I have been on the phone for 85 min with this company waiting for them to cancel! They are saying they have to get with the Marriot to get a fee waived! This has been real stressful! I intend on notifying the Marriot gift card because they had no number on the card to call the Marriot!
I booked a hotel room on their website in January. My credit card was charged immediately. I had to cancel because of my wife's illness and I notified them, again on their website. Later, when I called the hotel, I was told I would receive a refund less a 10% cancellation fee but it could take up to 30 days to appear on my credit card.
In April, I called Expedia, which was the number given to me by the hotel desk clerk, and was given the number for hotelsone.com. I called the number and was told by a recording that they would call me back in 40 minutes. They called back an hour later and put me on hold for over an hour at which point I hung up.
I called again a couple of days later and the recording told me they would call back within 4 hours and 11 minutes. They returned the call nine hours later, which was almost ten o'clock at night, but when I answered they hung up.
I called them a week later and actually talked with a human, although his accept made it extremely hard to understand him. After being put on hold for only 15 minutes, he came back and told me I would be contacted with their resolution to my problem within 72 hours.
At this writing that was six days ago and I'm still waiting, nearly four months after I made the reservation.
