I picked Hotel Valley h*o to celebrate my birthday. My friends and I reserved a cabana by the pool and we were having a good time celebrating until the bill came. First of all I want to say I am not a cheap person when it comes to celebrating something special but the bill was very clearly way more then it was supposed to be. I decided to overlook that and continue to have a good time. I split my payment of $1,500 onto two different cards and everything seemed fine. A few moments later a man approached me introducing himself as the bar manager. He said to me that my cards did not go through and asked if I could pay with a different method of payment.
I didn't have anything besides cashapp or venmo which he chose cashapp and told me the exact amount of my check which was $1,500. I assumed this was legitimate because there is no one that has access to the cabanas except guests or employees and the only guests thats were there was me and a couple of close friends. The rest of the pool was empty. He took my phone to put his cashapp name in and sent himself and another "employee" $750 each totalling $1,500. He told me that the bill was handled and left which is when my friends and I decided to head out as well.
In the morning I found out that my two cards were charged the full amount in addition to the cashapp. Which at this point totaled $3,000. I was obviously outraged and very confused. I called the hotel and they said that the man I am mentioning that introduced himself as the "manager" does not work for them or so they say. They told me that the bill was handled by the two cards I provided and that is it, they said that I'm on my own to figure out who the man was that charged me. I have never experienced such unprofessionalism and carelessness from a hotel especially about such a large amount of money that was stolen from me on their premises by an "employee".
The GM said that he does not know who this employee is and that its not his business to help me in any way such as provide video footage or anything that could help identify him. As you can image I am very outraged to this moment. I was robbed mid celebration by an apparent "employee" and none of the staff cared whatsoever. I would DEFINITELY not recommend this place to ANYONE their employees are dishonest and careless. Since this incident that happened on September 30th 2020, I have been in contact with my lawyer as well as the law enforcement and have made a report. DO NOT TRUST THIS PLACE. YOU WILL BE FOOLED AND TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF.
