Mac Sutton of Sunnyside Pawn in Fayetteville had a 1955 construction wagon we wanted customized. He brought the wagon over to me and we spent about 2-3 hours going over the ideas and needed of his new build. During the conversation, I compiled a checklist of all that he wanted done and at the end of the discussion he signed off on the "Project Build Sheet". This build was going to be extensive with new engine (fuel injection), transmission, fuel system, battery relocate, new dash and complete new wiring through out the car.
As the project progressed he was provided a detailed invoice for all parts and hours (all invoices were detailed by every hour and what was done that hour). After the 4th week he was already complaining that it was taking too long and that he was wondering how much more it was going to cost. As the project when on he still complained about the cost and time. I asked him repeatedly to come out and look at the progress and to see what direction he want this build to go. He would not, and never did he come to see the progress or comment on the build.
As we neared the end of the project (about 90%), out of the blue he comes to pickup the car. He said he has spent too much and it was taking too long. (We had the car just less than 6 months).
We had heard (not confirmed) that he later took it to another shop where they more or less almost started all over with the car.
The car left my shop in March of 2014 without the wiring completed or terminated, engine not tested or running, and the new dash not installed. And, it's now 2 years later that he called me and said that nothing on the car worked and it was my fault.
Jody Gregg the owner of hot muscle wiring is a rip off ! He charges by the hours but over charges. I have never seen a person who rips off people the why he does. He is very soft spoken and you never see it coming until you get the bill. He also over charges for parts he order. Example a part that cost $50.00, he would charge you 110.00. He also owns a 1955 Chevrolet which he and another person build (Chuck) , he uses that vehicle to get business. When a person see his vehicle, they feel good and think they will get the same service, wrong!! It's only a show to win you over. I can only say, STAY AWAY! This guy is rip off....He works from his home and that why some people feel ok with him but he have no concern.... Remember, he is soft spoken and can win you over... but at the end........ RIP OFF ! Also, I found out , he have changed the company name over the years but still doing the same... Over charging and ripping off people.
