Horn & Williamson snet me a retainer letter in which billing was to be monthly & fees were going to be sddressd with me (the client) before going forward...
SInce this was a Real Estate / Remediation issue - I relied on thier fiduciry responsiblity to keep me posted on fees on a monthly basis as outlined in their retainer...
This did not occur & I received a bill over 4 times the original retainer months after settling & not asking the company we were chasing for warranty settlement or applicable attorney fees.
I had no way of knowing I would get hit with an exorbitant bill much after much time had passed and if I had this discloure I woul dhave waitied to settle any claims...I also did not get any loss of rental income which was part of the original claim.
Right now I am seeking help with a dispute of legal fee with the option to file a malpractice suit...
Original retainer was paid with a credit card - fees recently billed are still open and teh subject of my dispute...
