As I am realizing, I am not the first student and probably will not be the last to be a victim of horizon healthcare institure and Courtney Robinson. I believe Courtney Robinson is steeling students money and not delivering the proper, appropriate and expected education for students to achieve their goal. I believe it is intentional that many student do not achieve his requirments so that we do not move forward to take the LPN board. It is better for Horizon to take students money then to possible have a chance that a student will fail on the first attempt and the school will be "Ding" or not get credit. I am not the first and from a past report March 11, 2015 on Rip Off, their have been many. If their are this many students, then their must be a problem with the school and the education.
FYI, a student can take a LPN Board test 3 times, if fail the board will send you onto a remediation course. Courtney Robinson makes sure many students do not even get a chance to take it one time becuase of his personal reasons and believing students will not pass on the first attempt which is not benefical to him.
I paid in full $9500, plust extra cost, I attended school 12 months, I completed the ATI green light (achieved a 97 percent probablity of passing NCLEX on first attempt). Courtney refused to give me an exit exam and wanted me to repeat all assesstments that were proctored to me thru ATI. He stated to the ATI program that I graduated and was self pay. I would have to incurre more expense and stated if I did not achieve the Level two again, I would need to re-do an remediation or another term of school. Two many students this has happen to, so the school and Courtney Robinson need to be investigated to stop horizon healthcare institute and Courtney Robinson from injuring more people that are trying to improve their lives.
Also, thru out the school term on many occasions I experienced and other students experienced Courtney Robinson's rude, loud, distrespectful behavior. I witness two other students taking other courses becoming hysterical crying. This is not the feeling you should have when you attend a school and need to take tests. On one of my experiences, Courtney Robinson entered my room where I was the only one in the room and started yelling at me and stood in front of the door. I packed my books and asked him to step away from the door and he had no right to yell at me like this. It took a few moments before he stepped away from the door and I exit the building. This is one of the reasons why I disagreed to continue anymore education with him due to the uncomfortable, hostile and intimidating experience.
When I did finally recieve a transcript from the Courtney Robinson, he noted Incomplete on my transcript, no graduation date even though he stated a graduation date twice verbally. Due to this , the Nursing board would not accept my transcript and I could not move forward to take a test and improve my career. He made sure the Board would not accept my transcript and suggest I spend more money and continue with his request.
On my transcript was a name of a nurse Bridgett Burroughs, RN, Director of Education. I never met the RN, she was not my teacher and if should was the Director of Education, I should of been able to work with her to solve my issues.
I will continue to try to make Courtney Robinson accountable for these crimes and preventing student from achieving their goals.
Completed a 4 week CNA course which was taught Monday and Wednesdays by Courtney Robinson and Tuesday and Thursday by Sally Weber. Sally Weber and LPN was abusive to students verbally did not teach the skills appropriately. Courtney Robinson the director taught Monday and Wednesdays. The cost was $900 and had to pay additional cost 4 boot camp of $35 also an additional cost for fingerprinting and he would not provide us certification or completion of course for not signing up at his facility for state Testing and paying the $150.00 fee . Even after passing the course refusal to provide any certification has been denied. The curriculum that is taught in the 4 weeks is completely opposite to the final examination given to pass the course. Taking advantage of people who want to continue their education and robbing them of their hard earned money. Robinson is teaching a Can course and he is not a certified or registered nurse or aide. I do not recommend this school to anyone. It has been a waste of money.
I attended Horizon healthcare institute May 2012 and completed the LPN program in Aug 2013. during my experience at Horizon healthare there was serval unprofessional encounter. I was told by Courtney Robinson during orientation $9000.00 was consist of two book fees( we never receive our ATI PN book like we was told ), labs hours, clinical hours, uniforms, and graduation fees(we never receive a graduation). my class first nursing instructor Mrs. Dean walk out in the middle of the class because other students was seeking extra help from another nursing instructor at Horizon( this situation was brought to Mr. Robinson attention and he gave students the OK to get this extra help). Courtney Robinson taught our class for a week then he was replace by Ester White. it was brought to my attention Mr. Robunson was not certified to teach a on class. We was asked to pruchase a new uniform for clinicals at calusa Harbour( 2525 first street fort myers, fl 33901, phone 239-332-3333).
My class was rejected from clinical sites. My class attented clinicals at Calusa Harbour 2 DAYS and was aked to leave when my class showed up the 3rd day. We was also rejected from Lehigh Regional Medical Center(1500 lee bivd lehigh acres, fl 33936, phone # 239-369-2101). Leaving the class not recieving all clinical hours Mr. Robinson proclaimed we recieved. My in class labs was consist of student reading the book. No hands on demonstration or training. the situation was brought to courtney attention with many other issue, Courtney became very angry. Courtney told me and many other students we are willing to transfer to another school. I had paid Courtney $4000.00, at this point i was four months into the program and i was willing to take him up on his offer. when i apporach Courtney he stated i will have to pay $2000.00 dollars more before transfering my transcript. At that point that would have been $6000 I put out.
With my back against the wall and feeling hopeless, I continue my nursing experience at Horizon with the intention to seek extra help when I finished the program. When my LPN program was finish at Horizon healthcare, a group of my class mates and i will try to meet on a weekly basis to bettter perpare ourselves for the exit from the school. My issue is i took Horizon healthcare exit on 1/2/2014 and scored a 62.5%. within my contract i was required an 70%. i reviewed my low areas and went back on 5/16/2014 it was brought to my attention by Courtney that i was given the same test scoring the same exact score.(this was a part of his failure plan) At this point i realize it was much more to PN nurseing then what i was taught and i needed a Thorough review. I decided to purchased ATI review that was referred by a friend. I didn't know at the time but the ATI review was like going back to school so i had to decrease my work hours by going part time and make arrangementsin my daily schedule. i was contacted by Mr. Robinson receptionist stating that Courtney is demanding that i come in no later than 9/18/15 to take my exit or i will have to go elsewhere. i requested for Mr. Robinson to call me so i can explaine my situation and i also made serval calls to him but he never returned my call. I showed up to Horizon Healthcare on 9/18/15 to explaine to him that I've been reviewing with ATI and i'm not ready to take my exit. courtney demanded that i take it or i won't be able to test.(this was a part of his failure plan) At this current time Horizon Healthcare was being investigated so Mr. Robinson was making as many students as possible to take his exit test. I took the test and the computer shut off on me 4 times It was brought to Mr. Robinson attention and signed me back in each time. I stated to courtney twice out the 4 times the computer shut off the computer didn't put me back at the question i left off. My score was an 67%. Mr. Robinson stated to me, " it was nothing he can do about his malfunctioning computer( this was a part of his failure plan). I dedicated my time to ATI and and i knew and comprehended more about pn nursing. I completed received the green light June 25, 2015 to take the nclex. I contacted Horizon and sopke to the receptionist. she told me she will speak to Mr. Robinson and contact me back with a date. i receive no call back.
i made serval attempts and finally got a date 3 weeks later. I tested on7/15/15, as i was testing i was surrounded by the CNA class. I paused my test and notified Mr.Robinson of the noise distraction. Due to rereading question because of the noise distraction I ran out of time during my test.( this was a part of his failure plan) On 8/12/15 I went back to test and i made sure i had an understanding with Mr.Robinson . I requested to be isolated and a quiet enviroment. I passed with a score of 72.9% and a 93% chance of passing the NCLEX. I was informed by Courtney stating, "he made changes( I had no knowledge of the changes) and i'm required to scor a 75%". I stated to Mr.Robinson that," I accomplish everything that was within my contract". Mr. Robinson.then told me his school was on probation because of his 1st, 2nd, and 3rd LPN program and sending his older students to sit NCLEX is jeopardizig his school. Mr.Robinson stated,"I made changes and his LPN students now is using ATI books and he now have a higher passing rate. Mr. Robinson stated, "I have a hard time sending my older students because this situation", he then told me he will contact me later in the week he needed time to decide what to do".
I made serval attempts to contact Mr. Robinson. Mr.Robinson receptionist contacted me requesting me to come to speak with courtney. i went and spoke with Mr.Robinson on 10/28/12015 and he stated to me I qoute, " I will allow you to test again but you are required to sign a contract that you are not eligible take the exit again and i'm changing my mind you are required to score an 80%". Within weeks his score requirements change. I 'm in shock, how can this be. I don't feel like i'm receiveing a fair opportunity. This is not the ideal nursing journey. I signed and consented to documents stating i'm requried to score a 70%. my contract didn't state limits of testing. I have classmates that was able to sit nclex with a score of 70%. I a single mother of three children. Worked a lot to pay a tuition of $9000.00 excluding the hidden fees,$75 charge each time i took the exit and ATI review i decied i needed to do. I realized Mr. Robinson didn't care about the future of his students it was about him hiding behind Horizon healthcare to victimize his students.
Years went by with me trying track down Mr.Robinson for a test date. Mr. Robinson have been misleading. I have reason to believe Mr. Robinson victimize me. I never consented to any of Mr. Robinson new changes. I don't understand how can Mr. Robinson make changes as he desire. There are many other students that have victimized by Mr. Robinson. I'm looking foward for some help. Former student please contact me @ [email protected], this email address was created by students that was victimized by Mr.Robinson. Let's come together! During orientation at horizon healthcare Mr. Robinson make sure he mention he is a lawyer, he's a paralegal!! Don't let that keep you slilent. That's a part of his plan. Speak out!!
First of all, if any of this is true, I am so sorry you and anyone else had to go through this and you should seek legal counsel.
Now, as a possible 'future student' who is seeking a school to obtain my practical nursing education, this normally would make look the other direction.
However, there are so many mispelled words and horrible grammatical errors it is honestly very difficult to even understand how you survived any of these clases to begin with - with ALL due respect. I am not trying to be cruel, but please, when you are giving an opinion/review to the public of a school that others are going to see and base judgement on, please please use proper grammar and spelling so that the general public knows itvwas given by an educated person!
