First and formost do not sign up with this company. Please save your money. Let my incident with them be a money saving choice for you.
We were promised by Roger with Hope for Home, that we were approved for a modification. We started with them in March of 2014. They charged us $665 a month for 4 months. This process was to take us to July at the most and our new lower payments starting August 2014. We provided every document they requested in a timely manner, every time.
The process took much longer than we were told. In December 2014, we started receiving a monthly invoice of $395. On the statement it stated it was for forclosure precention & delinquency settlement. I paid for December & January, then stopped makeing any further payments.
When I emailed our representative what this was for she never responded, so we did not pay. In June of 2015 Monte called us and said that we had to pay the past due amounts or they would stop working on our case. I told him why do we have to pay extra for something that was to be included in the original fee. He stated that our situation was taking longer than usual & they can't work for nothing. We settled on $1000 to get us current.
After they got the money they stopped communication with us. Caryne who was our representative would not respond to our emails, they would not return our phone messages and it got to the point that no matter what time of the day you called no one answered. This went on for 3 weeks. Then they started communicating and had some stupid excuse that they were in the process of re-organizing.
To make a long story short. We dealt with them for 16 months and they did not provide to us what they promised. I specifically asked Monte at the very beginnning of the process is a for sure we are getting the terms Roger told us or is this all dependent on Citi. He stated I have your file right here and Citi has agreed to the terms.
The will blame the mortgage company for any slowness in the process. They are liers, thieves & down right criminals. All of them. Monte, Roger, Caryne, Katie and any others that would work for such a company.
They and Citi Mortgage should be ashamed of themselves for how they treat people that really want help with their situation. I could write a book on both of these companies on how terrbile they are. How they lie, tell you what you want to hear.
If anyone knows how we can get our money back I would be so grateful in the info. Don't give them the time of day. Any positive comments you read on this company have got to be comments they wrote themselves. They need to be sued. Shut down & pay up.
Hope for Home, states it is a government Home modification or debt settlement agency to assist Homeowners who are facing foreclosures. I submitted my appliaction with this company in March 2015 for a modification process, and was instructed to send all documents I recieved from my mortgage company to them. Caryne was my contact person, and If I hade any questions to contact her.
I called once a week to get an update with my case, I left so many messages that was not returned, I grew quite concerned about this company. I recived a called in June 2015, that my modification did not go through, but they will get my payment forgiven or a debt settlement to bring my mortgage current.
Hope for home gave me a call on June 08, 2015, to complete this debt settlememt, Wells fargo required me to have 2 mortgage payment in Wells Fargo trust account. I sent the payment of $1917.22, fed-ex to Hope for Home.
I sent in all my correspondence to Hope for Home that I recived from The lawyers and court concerning my Home, and Caryne (who very seldon return calls) said not to worry and keep sending documents to [email protected].
I was contacted by the Lawyers for Wells Fargo and wrote a letter to give them permission to speak with me.
I left several messages with Hopeforhome and my calls was not returned. I sent a letter to Hopeforhome on September 24, 2015, to withdraw my application and request a refund of my money.
I spoke to James (the Manager) and he said the request was sent to the acounting department and they will send out the refund. I have called the company repeatly to speak with James(the Manager) to be told by Verdi, he is not in and she has left him all my messages.
On November 02-2015, I had a conversation with Verdi, she told me that the request went to the accounting department and they dont' have anything to do with that, I also ask her for a contact for the accounting department, which she didn't have. I told Verdi that she was not professional and does not make any sense what she told me, I told her I dont know what the policy is, but I sent my monet to Hopeforhome and requesting my refund from them.
